Require Eaton Viking Wall oven door handle. Model HP2SEW014 & Serial # 8401 01118 Unit is approx 30 years old Door is side hinged on left and handle is black plastic.

There are two types and they both work to a theme. Modern Oven hinges are inset into the door itself, so you just split the door apart, take the old ones out and the new ones in. The other type have the hinges inside the oven itself between the outside of the oven cavity and the outer panel. With those you pull out or remove the wall oven and look at the back and underneath for the screws. Remove the side panels, remove and replace the hinges.

To turn off the self-cleaning cycle on your Eaton Viking 1997 range, follow these steps:

1. Press the "Off/Clear" button to stop the self-cleaning cycle.
2. Wait for the oven to cool down completely. The self-cleaning cycle can take several hours, so it's best to wait at least a few hours before attempting to turn it off.
3. Open the oven door and remove the racks.
4. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any remaining debris or ash from the oven walls and bottom.
5. Close the oven door and press the "Off/Clear" button again to reset the oven.
6. Your Eaton Viking range should now be back to normal and ready for use.

Removing or Reseating Oven Door To remove most oven doors:

1. Open door to the BROIL POSITION, where you feel hinge catch slightly.
2. Place your hands on both sides of the door near the handle.
3. Lift the door up and away from hinges.
4. If the door does not readily lift off, there may be 2 phillips head screws on the inside of the door down near the hinges that are holding it on.

To replace the door:

1. Place your hands on both sides of the door near the handle.
2. Resting door against knee, line up door with hinges and slip into place.

To the owner of the Eaton Viking stove RS3028W-1, yes you CAN get replacement hinges!
I too, have this stove model (circa 1996) with exactly the same problem and I have spent the past 18 months looking for replacement oven hinges. I was very frustrated at the thought of having to throw out a stove that cooks and bakes wonderfully and has not needed any repairs till now and having to buy one of the new subpar ones that constantly need repairs. Plus you can't do canning on the new stoves and the few remaining coil models are extremely poorly made.
I have found 2 places that carry the hinges.
1. Reliable Parts, 1-800-663-6060. This company is located in Montrea (St. Leonard), Quebec.
2. Appliance Shark, 1-800-663-1176. This company is located in Barrie, Ontario.
The part number for the hinge is: 318-024-741

Viking 42" built-in units usually don't offer any door adjustments. If one of the doors are not closing well, check for obstructions blocking the door bins, worn door gasket, and possible door warp-age on the panel ready models. Viking did have top hinge recalls updating to the new "Cobra" hinge on many of their models which can be verified by calling viking and providing your full model/serial numbers. If your Fridge door is lower than the freezer door you most likely have a worn door closer located on the lower hinge of the fridge door, the closer is a 2 piece plastic interlocking/mating unit which wears down over time from friction. This usually needs to be replaced. Pleazer Appliance...

Could you please double check that model number? I don't see a oven under that number.

The door slides onto the two hinges and is held in place with two gravity operated latches. I'm not sure of the condition of your range but it sounds like the door was forced or lifted rapidly allowing the one side to release. The only solution I know of is to remove the other side and reinstall. The hinges have multiple locking positions so the next time you are cleaning your oven, open the door about 8 inches, find the small latches in the door hinge groove, and hold them upwards as you lift the door towards yourself.
The hinges should remain slightly opened. For installation, lower the door onto the hinge posts and pull it outwards slightly.

Extend your door hinges and remove entirely over to a table or other flat surface where you can do a step-by-step dis-assembly. Unfortunately, to get at the interior of the handle unit, it's the final stage of the taking apart. Begin by removing the bolts at the bottom of the door, then the main panel and side flanges can be removed. (You can give your glass a good cleaning at this point also.) There are 2 bolts to remove to free up the handle unit, and now you can easily tighten (or replace as needed) the 2 pairs of handle bolts. Reverse your order to re-assemble, and put your door back on the oven. It's not as bad an exercise as it would appear. Just take your time and watch what you're doing. I used the hinges as a shim, and had it laid out on a pool table for easy, elevated examination.
