I have a Kenwood vr-707 soon as i turn it on 2 seconds later it shut off and the power light flashes.

your receiver has a bad audio output ic.replacing ic will take care of the problem

This means there is a problem with the system it is in the protect mode it will not come out of that mode untill repairs are made. More than likley the power amp is blown.

Check all your speaker wires for shorts, especially behind the amp, doesn't take much for something to throw a spanner in the works, like when cleaning house and moving stuff around.

your receiver's volume is set to loud

check your speaker connections you have a short or wires touching eachother

You may need to reset the microprocessor, the ownersmanual describes this process as Turn the Receiver OFF,UNPLUG the POWER CORD from the elecrical outlet,PLUG the RECEIVER back into the outlet while PRESSING and HOLDING hte POWER ON button, continue to HOLD the POWER BUTTON for a Second or two, Hope this works for you, if not a CLIPPING problem could be the source only if you set up new speakers or input source. I have a VR205 with the same problem. I can make it stay on by doing this: as soon as the display lights up turn off the power and then turn it back on quickly. Do this 3 or 4 times. Mine usually stays on after this....the relays latch and all is well I suspect one of the step-start relays as I have checked everything else out and all is in order and the receiver works fine. I would love to find a shop manual for this series of receivers. Anyone know where such an animal exists?

your speakers wires are touching together. this system has a protecter so you don't blow out the amp. the blinking is how it lets you know that

Unit is going into protection and then shutting down. No way to tell what is wrong. Could be blow amp channel or bad power supply.
