When i switch on my sony C171 digicam, you can see from the cam screen hard drive disk error

try to put other memory card.. if the same problem appears, try to scan/format your memory card to your computer, then put it back

If you are trying to capture footage from tape them USB is incorrect, use a firewire cable to connect.
