The most common fault is the channel;s input connector has come loose from the circuit board. Disassemble to get to that point and re-flow the soplder on all three pins and it will probably be fine. However, also inspect the connector to be sure a leg hasn't broken off, which is the second most common failure point.

Peavey XR series 600 may have been left on without one speaker plugged in, what is the likely diagnosis?

Out put amplifier is defective. If it was protected by a fuse - then look for a fuse that is blown.

Peavey xr 8600 about 6 yrs old used weekly heard a loud pop them a low emiting hum no sound comes thru .... is it time for a tech ? or dose it sound like an easy fix like fuse or something power on board...

Check the caps in the PSU, these give out over time although not normally when used regularly. You may be lucky and be able to see one or more with bulging tops. If you can replace them and all MAY be OK. Whilst in there check for any visible signs of anything burnt or blown. If it looks too bad or there is nothing obvious it's a trip to the repair shop for certain.

How can you tell if a fuse is blown on a XR 8600 power amp by peavey?

The fuse is probably placed near the power cable entrance in the power amp.
Pick it up from it's placing dock and look for the wire inside. If the wire is whole, the fuze is fine, however, if the wire inside the fuze is missing or burned, the fuze needs to be replaced.

The fan is making a lot of noise. How do I fix it? How does it come apart?

You would need to purchase a replacement fan (you can't repair broken ones). Most peavey mixers disassemble by removing the 2 screws that secure the top handle and then the six xcrews along the top and bottom of the back.

Stopped getting volume using the main equalization volume control. Still getting volume through monitors. What do you think ?

pfl or mute is engaged. You haven't routed it to the foh or speaker cables are naff, the cas are naff or even the main amp has blown.

I have the peavey xr 8600 and i wanna know how to connect an additional non powerd mixer to it ( i wanna use the peavey as an amp??

That's easily done. Simply connect the left(or right) output of your mixer to one of the channels on the peavey. Use any line input. Since the peavey is a mono system, there's no need sending a stereo mix to it.

I want to use both speaker outputs for loudspeakers on my Peavey 8600 without splitting the watts. How do I hook up monitor speakers in this situation? Can another mixer be patched into the front? I have...

Sorry, but this unit does NOT support "bridged" mode. You will have to drive seperate speakers from the two seperate outputs. You would NOT get any more power if you could do bridged mode than you could with 4 ohm speakers on each of the two output channels.
