I bought a Tomtom 620 and so far I cannot find how I can identify hotels, restaurants, etc on the screen.

GROUPON is one of those companies that sell batches of coupons for deals on hotels or face cream or restaurants, anything really.
Like coupons cut from newspapers for 10% off or whatever, these are online or signed up with your credit card.
You can, for instance, decide to stay at hotel in LA and go online to see if they have a deal with GROUPON. If they do, then when you pay, it gives you whatever the discount coupon deal states. 20% etc.
Now I suppose if somebody is using your card details to redeem GROUPON deals without your knowledge then you'd better call your bank now.
The answer may be something you bought by accident or just simply it was a deal already attached to whatever you purchased. Worth a call though.

a place that sells equipment to cafes, restaurants , hotels etc

It's not possible, but you can try calling them from pay phones or another phone posing as someone else, like courier, restaurant, hotels, etc and identify them.. Good luck..

Turn on the GPS and tap on the main screen. Tap on : Navigate to.. Tap on : Point of Interest Tap on: POI near you. Tap on: Restaurant. A list of restaurants will show up. tap on the one, you would like to try. Tap on select. tap fastest route (optional) tap done. on to route screen tap done once more. Tap continue if any warning appear.

By default, the TomTom ONE 125 does not include maps of Canada. You can do one of two things:

1. If you just purchased it and can take it back, buy a TomTom ONE 130. It includes Canada maps and usually is only about $10-20 more.

2. Use the TomTom Home software (the same one that you use to update the TomTom and add voices, etc) and purchase the maps for it. I'm not sure how much they are, but certainly less than a new GPS.

You definitely need software and maps on an SD card. The TOMTOM will not work without a card inserted. The card will contain MAPS , Map authorisation codes ( to show they are genuine TOMTOM maps bought and paid for ) , POI ( points of interest ), GPS fix data , voices ( for spoken navigation ) etc etc etc. ....................
PLEASE NOTE , TRYING A CARD FROM ANOTHER TOMTOM is very unlikely to work. Each card has an authorisation code that is generated via an algorithm inside each TOMTOM and is device specific.
However , trying a card from another tomtom might produce a diferrent result but still not work , at least this might prove that the tomtom is working OK before you rush out and buy a tomtom card.
