Any standard speaker will "work". What you get depends on what you intend to use it for. PA? get PA speakers. Home audio? Listen to some in your price range, and choose what has the sound you like.
Check your input or output cables might be dirty I had the same problem and 1 of my output wire was dirty so i sprayed tha electric cleaner and its all good now Aloha
Lots of electronics have lights (LEDs) that turn on when they are plugged it. Most people just don't notice them. If it is working properly, then the light is normal.
Hi try disconnecting the speaker outs and turn off bridge (if its on) If it doesnt work still, then suggest direct to a crown agent. The amp has a 3 year no fault warranty. Hopefully its still in!

It depends on the impedence of the speakers. Carfull as you could burn up this amp if you exceed the resistance rating on it. Go here on all of the specs of this model of crown amps. http://www.crownaudio.com/amp_htm/xlsspec.htm Good Luck
