I have the same model refrigerator and don't have a solution but I think I have more information on the problem. In mine, water will leak periodically from the condenser leading up to the freezer (inside the refrigerator, at the top, center, back of the main compartment). I have seen it leak and it isn't a constant leak but when it leaks it can pour out at a pretty high rate.
In mine, the water will collect in the deli drawer (near the top), the crisper drawers at the bottom, and under the crisper drawers. When it happens, I use a sponge to soak it up and wring into a bowl.
To minimize the impact, I have set up a cup or dish near the back of the fridge to catch the leak. I empty this every couple weeks or whenever it fills up, but I'm looking for more information on a fix (I think the problem has to do with the condenser - that's the lead I got when I found this post).

My Roper refrigerator collects water in both vegetable bins. Help!

Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again .

Then get a turkey baster and fill it with hot water. Insert it in the drain in the bottom and squeeze it cleaning the drain. Several applications will solve the problem, and do not forget the freezer side as well.

WATER GATHERING UNDER CRISPER DRAWS

It is likely there is some kind of blockage in the drain system which carries defrost water out of the refrigerator to a drain pan underneath.

There should be a tube in back running down the refrigerator. This could be blocked, or the catch basin inside the refrigerator that this tube connects to could be blocked.

Roper Refrigerator - manufactured 12/99 - RT18DKXH W00

tata75,
Happy to assist you,

you said,
For the past three days, water has been leaking/freezing at an alarming rate. The freezer had about 2 inches of ice built up and the bottom of the refrigerator is holding water, too. Both crisper s were FULL of water. I don't know if the ice maker connection is broken or what. Looks like I have to cut off the cold water completely to the sink to get it to stop.

Sounds like the ice maker or its line is leaking the water to me. And obviously it will freeze in the freezer.

Water in bottom of Roper Refrigerator/Freezer Unit

I have the same problem. I suspect the drain line for the auto defrost is clogged and so the water is dripping down into the fridge. (The water from the auto defrost cycle is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it evaporates over a period of a few days). I have yet to locate the drain line though.
