Kenmore Electric Oven Model 4088816 - Error Code F3

Hi,

We have never had any problems with our oven (EVER!) :-) (yes it is an oldy but goody - purchased in 1991)

Tonite after using it earlier in the evening with no problem we turned it on to preheat and after about 30 seconds to a 1 minute, the Display window went to F3 and the oven started to beep.

Can you tell me what this means. I can't find any information in the Owners Manual about error codes

Thank you so much!

(P.S. I tried calling Sears to get some validation from them - what a waste of time!!!! Very Sad...)

Thanks for advice - it sounds like we have same problem - have purchased a replacement oven sensor - challenge is to put it in - can it be replaced from inside the oven or do we have to pull the stove out ? - wire attached to sensor seems about 6 inches long.

    Thankyou - KEITH

We are cleaning our Kenmore builtin oven/microwave and an F2 alarm is now sounding. Any ideas?

  • Anonymous May 06, 2009

I was cooking food in my oven and I heard it beep and F3 code came up where the clock is. My oven wouldn't shut off. We had to disconnect the oven to shut it off.

we just replaced our sensor because repair said F3 meant sensor was bad. It still shows F3 and beeps.

F3 code model 9114558819

The F3 error code indicates that the EOC (Electronic Oven Control board) senses a problem with the oven temperature sensor. You could have a defective sensor, a failed EOC or a bad wiring connection between these 2 components.try replacing the sensor first yu can have it mailed to you directly from marcone appliance parts

F2 and F3 code appearing along with annoying beeping

i think f3 error code has something to do with the temp probe maybe it is the problem. the temp probe is located if you open the door directly in the back wall. it looks like a prong. should read 1100ohms the f2 error code though usually has something to do with the keypad i would check all the connections maybe they are loose.

My oven displays F3 and beeps

f3 error code is generally a bad oven sensor. not every code is universal, but most manufacturers use the f3 error code to indicate a sensor issue. it is an easy fix if you want to tackle the problem yourself. Joe
