Not able to connect sony vaio to projector or LCD TV

Insert one end of the VGA cable into your Sony Vaio. This is located on the left side of your computer.

Turn off the Infocus projector before connecting the opposite end of the VGA cable into the projector. The VGA input slot is located in the back of the projector.

Turn on the projector and allow time for it warm up.

Change the video output source on your computer to display through the projector. Press the "Windows" button and then "LCD/CRT" button on your Vaio keyboard to change the display source. On a Sony Vaio, the "LCD/CRT" button is usually "F7."

Focus the projector to most effectively display content from your computer. You can manually focus the projector or press the "Auto focus" button on the top of the projector.

When I connect a computer to a projector no additional drivers are needed. Just connect the VGA or DVI port to the projector. The projector may be the limiting factor, though, as far as detecting the signal from the VGA cable, and you may have to follow the instructions of the projector to make it work correctly as far as when to power up the computer and what not.

why tell me

As far as I know I need:
1) to purchase that VGA - S-Video Adapter ?
2) to purchase S-Video Cable itself ?
3) to purchase something like audio AV cables as well ?

Does anybody know where I can buy VGA - S-Video Cable (without Adapters) if it's possible and DO I NEED TO BUY AUDIO CABLE IF I'M GOING TO CONNECT THRU S-VIDEO?

Your laptop will have a VGA output or possibly a S-video out. For the VGA you'll need a standard VGA cable. Plug the cable in to your laptop and the PC input of your TV. If your TV does not have PC input it may have a DVI input. IF it does you can use a VGA/DVI adapter to plug it in. If it doesn't have a DVI input you can use the S-Video output on your laptop with a standard S-video cable. After the connection to your TV is made you will have to toggle alternate display by pressing and holding your [Fn] key and pressing F4, or F5, or another F# key. It's the one that looks like a TV screen. Press once to turn on output, press again to turn off your laptop screen, press again to go back to laptop screen only

i have sony vaio VGN-CR23G. i formatted this xp sp2now the sound driver is not installed on my machine. no audio output m getting........what to do..??

it's only a partial solution but channel 3 or 4.... or your tv may have settings for dvd or other. look at the remote. try hooking it up again and changing from regular cable to dvd or the other setting (can't think of it at the moment)
