SOURCE: We have a Garland commercial

You can clean the parts all with regular dish soap. The oven you can use Easy-Off oven cleaner. And the stainless parts you can get stainless steel cleaner at any grocery store.

SOURCE: I have an old Vulcan

Hi- This should have a gas Safety Valve, this is the main valve to the oven (this probably has 2). If you remove the lower panel under the doors they are probably right there. Looks like a large gas valve with a button on it, sometimes the button is red. You need to hold in that button while lighting the pilot and keep holding it in for a few seconds until the thermocouple gets hot enough to tell the valve to keep the pilot on. You'll have to do this for both ovens if there are 2 valves. It's possible the valves are located somewhere else on the range so you may have to hunt a bit. If the pilots still won't stay lit you may need new thermocouples in which case I'd call a Tech out to look at it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Broiler doesn't seem to cook

Hi,

There is probably a separate gas pressure regulator for different parts of the range... they are know to stick and they can either stick in a high pressure mode or low pressure.... I would first change out the regulators and see what happens before going any firther with your troubleshooting....

I am also assuming that the burners are clean and free of grease, etc...

sounds like a gas problem to me...get a gauge on the manifolds and see what is happening there...

Hi Aenriquez,

this is a monster cooker.
I have one at home in pieces, still waiting for refurbishing.
I dismantled the cooker sevaral years ago, so I do not know everything about it anymore.
But the mainsting here is, has it Flame Failure devices.
I think so, bu can not remamber that.
If so, then I would suggest that this item needs to be replaced.
I send you a link where you can find more.

I hope this helps, Dik

How do you light the pilot for the flat top section of our Imperial 6 top stove?

This range has a standing pilot light for the top burners and griddle top. If you look through the small hole under the flat top griddle you can see a small line about 1/4 inch that runs from the main gas manifold to the pilot light about 6 inches back under the griddle top. You will need a tightly wrapped piece of paper or a long match or small wooden stick, like a chop stick. Light the end of your paper, or stick and put it through the hole all the way to the pilot light. It should catch on fire. Whenever the main gas line is on, the gas will flow through the pilot light. If it will not light, there is a pilot light adjustment that is a very small screw in the middle of a 1/2 inch square metal fitting that is screwed into the gas manifold. If the pilot won't light, this screw may be turned all the way in, thus cutting the gas off to the pilot light. If necessary take a very small flat blade screw driver and turn the screw counterclockwise a half turn. That will increase the gas flow to the pilot light. Another way to light the pilot is to put your burning stick or match into the hole near the burner under the griddle plate, then slowly turn the heat valve to the on position. The main burner will light and then the pilot will light off of it. Don't get your face too close to the griddle when you light it, gas can flash back into your face.
