SOURCE: Print margins too large on Xerox DocuColor 12 - How do I reset?

Not sure this is what your needing but ,,

The Edge Erase default setting is No Erase, which enables the copies to print within 2 mm of each page edge. This is normally sufficient to remove shadows from the edges. If the dark edge is closer than 2 mm, you must set Edge Erase at Variable Erase.

The Variable Erase option enables the copier / printer to vary the amount of erasure from 0 to 50 mm in 1 mm increments. The same amount of erasure is applied to both top and bottom edges or right and left edges of the document.

  1. Select [Edge Erase] on the Added Features tab. The Edge Erase screen is displayed.
  2. Select [Variable Erase]. The Variable Erase screen is displayed.
  3. Under Top & Bottom Edges, use the [Up] arrow to increase the amount of erasure at the top and bottom edges. Use the [Down] arrow to decrease the amount of erasure at the top and bottom edges.
  4. Under Left & Right Edges, use the [Up] arrow to increase the amount of erasure at the left and right edges. Use the [Down] arrow to decrease the amount of erasure at the left and right edges.
  5. Under Original Orientation select the page orientation that most closely resembles the orientation of the document on the Document Glass.
  6. Select [Save]. The Edge Erase screen is displayed.
  7. Select [Save]. The Added Features tab is displayed and shows the new Edge Erase values.

SOURCE: Paper has black marks only on the edge

There are several issues that will cause a problem like that.
1, As X box mentioned is a problem with the drum. That is part of what is called the print cartridge or imaging unit. There is most likely a shutter or opening in the cartridge which you can shine a flash light at and see if the defect is visible. If so you will have to replace that cartridge. I would suspect that is the most likely issue.
2. There may be something in the paper path. A small piece of paper riped off in it, something else, a piece of tape, label, etc may have made it into the machine, that will make contact with the paper and smear the image.
3. Lastly, your fuser roller may be bad causing the reprint.
How to determine where the issue is, shut the machine off while it is printing and jam the paper in the image area. See if the defect is on the paper before the fuser. Eliminates the fuser ....

SOURCE: black smudges on printed page

Are you sure this is a Designjet 450 (large format printer) and not a Deskjet 450 (portable printer)? The following assumes you have wispy black streaking on the printed side of the paper. If the streaking is on the back side then post more details of the printer model and the issue.

In either case the most likely cause is a buildup of fibers on the underside of the printheads or carriage, causing wisps of black ink to be dragged on the paper when the carriage reverses direction. You can clean the printer as shown at the following (though the details will be somewhat different for the Designjet or Deskjet....).

Hi Mike13660,

Usually the fault you are describing is caused by the fuser section being left in envelope mode.
Open the right hand side door, then lift the grey fuser cover up. Look at the levers on the fuser unit, make sure they aren't pointing at the envelope symbol. If they are, push them upwards. then close everything and try again.

My Konica Minolta bizhub C250 seems prints about every 10th page crinkled and crooked. I can hear it going through the machine and crushing a crease in the paper as it prints. The printed also seems to...

The paper may not be feeding straight out of the paper tray due to poor stacking of the paper in the paper cassette. try another paper tray or check the paper in the paper tray for folded over papers usually near the bottom. Also try feeding paper from the hand feed tray on the left side. This uses a different paper path.

The print margins on my Konica Minolta Bizhub c203 cut off the bottom of my pages. how can I fix this?

Check and see if it does it on copies too. If so then your paper trays maybe out of center or your paper guides may be open. If everything is center and registration is correct, your print may be in the "Void Margin" this is an area around the page the machine will not put toner in. Konica Minolta Bizhub C203 copiers do not have an edge to edge print capability

SRA3 printout is not same size but slightly smaller

Hi,

Try this!

Phaser 7300 Printer: Turn metric defaults on using the printer's front panel

The Printer's Configuration Page will show that Tray (1-5) is loaded with Tabloid Extra instead of SRA3. To have the image scaled to SRA3 instead of Tabloid Extra, turn On Metric Defaults at the Printer's Front Panel.
You can switch Metric Defaults On or Off at the Printer's Front Panel as follows:
  1. With Menus highlighted, press the OK button.
  2. Select the Printer Setup Menu by pressing the Down or Up Arrow button.
  3. Press the OK button.
  4. Select the Reset Printer Setup Menu by pressing the Down or Up Arrow button.
  5. Press the OK button.
  6. Select Metric Defaults by pressing the Down or Up Arrow button.
  7. Select On or Off by pressing the OK button.

Xerox phaser 7700 having problems printing transparencies and accumulator belt problems

Hi xander4265:
I
Streaks in direction of paper travel
There are dark lines running along
the page in the direction of paper
travel from the leading edge to the
trailing edge (B-size print shown).
The printer displays no error code.
Note A-size prints are processed
through the printer with the short
edge of the print parallel to the
direction of the paper path --
making horizontal print artifacts
parallel to the shot edge of the
print.
B-size prints are processed
through the printer with the long
edge of the print parallel to the
paper path -- making horizontal
artifacts parallel to the long axis
of the print.
1. Check the end of life for each of
the consumables by printing the
supplies usage page. From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu, select
Print Supplies Page.
2. Run the solid fill test pages; From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu,
select Service Pages, then select Print Solid Fill Pages. If the missing bands
only occur in a single primary color, replace the print cartridge of the affected
color.
3. Swap print cartridges and run another test print.
Note Under some circumstances, streaking may occur in the margin of
SRA3-size paper. This is due to the edges of the paper extending
beyond the end of the imaging components. print-quality in the
margins of SRA3 paper is not guaranteed.
4. Inspect the Accumulator Belt cleaner; replace the cleaner, if necessary.
5. Run the Remove Print Smears routine. From the front panel’s Support Menu,
select Improve Print-Quality?, then select Remove Print Smears.
6. Replace the Developer Housing Assembly (RRP 27, on page 7-171).
7. Remove the print cartridge and (with a flashlight) check for debris along the
edge of the developer housing.
