Three phase
three phase power = 1.5Kw
single phase = 1.5KW/3
500w
kw = 500w/.86 (.86 is power factor)
kva = 581.39 watts
current = kva / voltage
voltage = ? 120 v at guess
current = 581.39 / 120
current one phase = 4.84 amp
three phase = 4.84 x 3
14.53 amps
http://myelectrical.com/notes/entryid/8/three-phase-power-simple-calculations
240v would come out as 7.26 amps

Definately sounds like a leak in the pipes from the pressure side of the pump onwards, even the smallest leak will cause it to turn on to regain adequate pressure.

SOURCE: Grundfos pump switches on & off continuously with

if you have a pump for the whole house you need to check the bladder tank. there is a air valve on the top. Check the pressure with a tire gauge you should have at least 20 PSI this will stop the pump from the on and off thing.

You can compress air yuo can not compress water. thats why the ballder tank. As the pump work to shut off pressure it is compressing air. then when you use a little water the pump does not run until a large about is run then the pump will re fill the system

Best of luck

Has anyone at this site had much experience with a Grundfos booster water pump and its dependability?I am considering the purchase of one for my daughter's home. She has a 1500' entrance water pipe running...

You would be better off with a brand that has better representation than Grundfos. Several of our commercial customers change to brands such as Armstrong or Bell & Gossett the first chance they get because Grudfos is less reliable and getting parts or service on them much harder.

Grundfos mq3-45 b has stopped working has and has alarm light on. looking for solution please

There are several reasons for the pump to go into alarm mode: 1. Overheating 2. Lack of water 3. leak on the suction side causing cavitation 4. Bad circuit board
This pump will try to re-start for 24 hours and will go into Standby mode if there is no water.
What happens if you push Start?
