Can I make an adjustment to the Bemis toilet seat to get the slow whisper quiet close back again?

You don't want to overtighten since you could crack the porcelain. Are your rubber washers in good shape? This will help. You should be able to do this w/out doing any damage.

It needs a new air shock on it. You might be able to take the old one apart and fix it but replacement would be best.
