Since your machine can do decorative stitches, I would think it can take a twin needle. Just BE SURE you have installed the needle plate with the wide hole for the needle and do NOT set a wider stitch than the twin needle can accommodate on it's widest setting without checking by turning the handwheel--the twin needle will overreach and either hit the presser foot or needle plate and sent needle shards flying!!! The manual should have instructions.

SOURCE: Can I replace the needle threader on a Pfaff 2056

It would be a two minute job for the Pfaff repair chap to do this....ring and check availability and ask for a quote, in our shop I would not charge to do this as you would be coming back for other goodies anyway, so it is just good business not to squeeze every last cent when word spreads of how reasonable and accommodation we were..
Phone and ask, save the stress.

SOURCE: How do I remove the bobbin case basket on my Pfaff 2056

Perhaps the manual would be helpful (pg 2.9):

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0ahUKEwj4p9Sv3OnZAhUHLmMKHdQZAj4QFghAMAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pfaff.com%2FSiteMedia%2FPFAFF%2FProducts%2FMachines%2FSupport-manuals%2Fperformance_2056-manual-EN.pdf%3Fext%3D.pdf&usg=AOvVaw3YpszcCxsflKR0tdzy2CFx

It would be the opposite of the instructions for inserting the bobbin case. Pull the lever on the bobbin case and pull the bobbin case out.

How do I disable the bobbin thread low feature on my Pfaff Performance 2056? I am trying to make paper stencils. Thanks.

I have a 2056. I open the little door with the red light and closely watch my top thread for when it stops catching a bobbin thread until it is used up. I stitch more slowly but at least not annoyed and not wasting thread. Dawn Illinois

How to adjust placment of twin needle so it doesnt hit edge of bobbin holder?

The needle should not hit the bobbin holder at all. Do you have the needle inserted all the way? If it is too low, it will hit. If you are saying the needle is hitting the sides of the needle plate where the needle goes through, then the needle is too wide for the plate. Either use a narrower twin needle or see is a needle plate with a wider needle hole came with your machine. Some decorative stitches can't be used with a twin needle because the combination of width of stitches and width of needle is too wide. In that case, narrow the stitch width until the needle doesn't hit the needle plate or use a narrower twin needle. I hope I have helped and answered some of your questions. Good luck.

Skips a few stitches when using a double needle. I'm using a recently acquired old Pfaff Hobbymatic and have used a double needle before on a Singer. When I tried sewing, it will stitch but then skip a...

firstly are you using a regular twin needle on a knit fabric? this could cause skipped stitches.
is the twin needle quite old and possibly blunt?

Is the Hobbymatic a model that requires a slanted twin needle, there are two types of twin needles as the computerised machines need the offset style. You can distinguish between them by the plastic block on the needle shaft where the twin needle points are set, either red or a deep brown colour.

If none of the above apply, then it is possible that the timing sequence is slightly off so that one of the needle's thread is not getting caught during the stitching.

Timing is an adjustment that I leave to the technician to address. But if you want to have a go yourself there may be some videos on you-tube for your model and how to make this adjustment to it.

2056 the understitch is loose. Is this a problem wit the tension ?

Sounds like a threading problem. Thread the machine all the way to the needle but not the needle eye. Then pull on the thread and lift the presser foot up and down. You should have tension when it is down and no tension when it is up. If this is the case try sewing, should fix the problem. If this is not the case your machine will need to be adjusted buy your pfaff dealer.
Hope this helps

When using twin needles only one line of stitching is stitching normally, the other line is jumping stitches. I have tried rethreading & changed the twin needle. With the first twin needle the left...

now that is strange. check your thread, now take that twin needle and try this, shove it very hard up into the the needle holder. my thought is that it is not up enough. because your problem is exactly what would happen should the twin needle be sitting too low. try shoving it up higher and test again.

Twin needle

Any universal twin needle should work, there is no attachment. Just don't set your stitch width too big if you are in zig-zag!
I hope this helps and good luck.
