How do I hook up my dvd/vcr to the tv

On the back of the cinavision you have two groups of sockets. The yellow socket under Video out is picture. Red and white is sound. Connect them to the TV's yellow red white sockets marked Video In 1. This connection will give you picture and sound from either the VCR or the DVD deck.

There's a better picture quality available for DVDs only from the Component video out sockets (green red blue). Next to them is another set of audio sockets (red white). Connect all five sockets to the TV's input number 2. The colours match up. The picture from Component will be clearer and sharper.

On your Sharp TV remote, select Video 1 to watch VCR, and Video 2 to watch DVDs.

Can't get video on vhs sound but no picture, is it broken

I had the same problem, so I took it back to basics. Hooked cable into VCR/DVD player and another cable from player to TV. S cable too, plus red/white audio. Plays DVDs on AV1 and VHS on Channel 3 on TV setting.

I have a Sylvanis VCR/DVDcombo and a Standard TV.

The converter box receives hte digital signals and converts them into either channel 3 or 4, or into direct video (red, white, yel). The output of the converter box must go into the VCR input for recording to work. Before the conversion, the tuner of hte VCR would receive the RF signal the same as the TV. The tuner inside the VCR is an analog tuner not digital, so it needs the conversion too. Most converters will provide both the A/V signal (R/Wh/Y) and RF (coax connector).

Hope this helps,
Dan

Connect tv vcr and dvd player to digital converter box

Yes you can first connect the converter box to the antenna first. Next hook the tv out on converter box to vcr in on vcr. Next hook the vcr out to the tv in and watch vcr and converter box on channel 3 sometimes channel 4.on the actual tv and of course change channels with converter box remote. For dvd player hook it straight to tv with red, white, and yellow cables that come with your dvd player. Then to watch dvd player if it's hooked up that way you have to put your tv on a input like video 1 or input 1. This can be done by using the tv remote and looking for a button that says tv/video or input or source button. This is some common names for that button on tv remotes.

I hooked up my portable dvd player to a vcr so i can watch tv on my dvd player and i can't see the picturebut i can hear the sound...

first off have you tried hooking something you know works up to the vcr and seeing if it works??

if you have and it does work then try hooking to portable up to a tv.
if it still doesnt work then its the player.
if it works on the tv then you have to assume its a copyright protection to keep you from recording dvds.

now if it doesnt work on the tv possible solution could be to make sure the cable is connected firmly, or replace it all together. you might also want to check to see if there is a switch to select the video output.

If you have it hooked up through your VCR this will happen. Try hooking it directly to your TV.

HELP! I can't figure out how to Connect my Sylvania DVD/VCR Combo to my older TV

Even if you do get it connected you cannot copy from vhs to dvd as you have bought a vcr recorder with dvd player, not a dvd recorder. You can only record to the vcr tape from a dvd, in the players controls.

Do you have it hooked up to a VCR? If so, it's the Macrovision kicking in.
