Air leaking out the nose is indication that the orings at the bulkhead are leaking or the cylinder seal is no longer holding back pressure. If the driver piston is pushed down when you connect air to gun then the cylinder seal is bad, of however the piston stays at the top of the cylinder when air is connected, then bulkhead orings are bad. The bulkhead orings are located around the outside of the cylinder and make contact with the outer housing of the gun. Good luck

First - the air pressure has to be high enough - check the regulator on the tank to make sure it is delivering in excess of 60-70 psi (which I am sure you have already done).
If you have dry fired these guns (i.e. shot them off with no nails in them while you were lubricating them maybe) the mechanism inside could be damaged. I had that happen to one of my nailers (same brand). That was when I learned not to dry fire them...
Since both of them are not working though I would be more inclined to look at the air supply first.

if air is released when the trigger is pulled then stops when the trigger is released , then the trigger is doing its job. its probably a firing valve issue. four screws will take off the top cap of the gun the firing valve is inside of the cap . first check to see if the gun has enough oil( unless its an oil less gun) if its dry then grease or oil all of the orings, if this dose not work check to see if any of the orings or plastic parts need replacing. pls rate this answer...;tks
SOURCE: I am having problem with my Dewalt D51823 Framing
Either the plunger has not completely returned to the "pre-firing" position, or there is a defect in one of the o-ring seals. Make sure that the gun is sufficiently lubricated and if so, then next check the condition of the o-rings. An improper seal will cause this. It is also possible that the trigger assembly has a small crack/leak.

Sounds like it's ready for a rebuild I'd still use air tool oil in the air inlet as it could reseal as your suposed to put a fews drops of oil in the air inlet ( where the air hose connects) everytime you put in another strip of nails. (most peaple don't ) And now your on the way to get it rebuilt or get a rebuild kit and do it yourself. The practiced rebuilder can do alot of tricks to make the gun run good and it'll act like a new gun when you get it back. Most medium to large cities have large fastner dealers that have a repair center at the store. Or can refer you to one. Take it to them as they can tell you how soon your going to get it back and if your dealer sends it off they might not be able to say. The rebuilder them selfs may tell you that parts are out of stock for your unit or they don't rebuild well and your better off just getting a new one and oiling it regular so's not to kill it like this one.
Dewalt framing nailers use some vinyl orings (gold or clear in color) that fail too soon in both the trigger and the cylinder spacer. Air out the nose of gun indicates air is leaking past the cylinder spacer seals (If piston is pushed down with air leak then headvalve seal is leaking (remove nails for this test)). If piston is not pushed down with leak, remove head and pull out the cylinder with cylinder spacer (white plastic). Place the cylinder on workbench with bottom up. Push down on locking ring and remove retainer to release all the other parts. Take picture or take note of parts together and as you pull them off to aid in re-assembly. You will need to replace the two orings between the white cylinder spacer and the cylinder. Order oring kit from dewalt or just purchase one ( # 141 universal oring ) and one metric oring 74.4mm x 3.1mm from hydraulic parts store. If the piston was pushed down with air leak, replace headvalve orings in the head. Good luck with your repair
