SOURCE: start button not working
We had this problem and a repairman came and replaced the entire control/display panel. Still had the problem some time after he left. I found that there are several ribbon cables in the back that plug in to the circuit board in the back of the control/display panel. There is a wide ribbon that is close to right rear burner control button, (but on the back side). The connector for this ribbon cable is the trouble. If you unsnap the connector by gently pulling out on it, it will release the ribbon cable - which you then pull out and push back in. Snap the connector back and you might be good to go for awhile. At some point, it will do it again. So, I've loosened the back sheet metal so I can reach over the back - without having to pull the oven away from the wall. I feel, with my finger tips, the wide ribbon cable, (roughly behind the right rear burner button), and press on the right side of the connector after setting the temperature. This, temporarily, enables the Start button. This works for only one time. To make it work for about a month, you have to unsnap, pull out and push back in as described above. I'll do this again when I get tired of my wife calling me to the kitchen to start the oven.
I assume the new parts will have the same problem as the original.
What a pity.
