SOURCE: Pentax K10D won't work with lens from Pentax K100 (film0

The lenses are probably manual focus lenses,

  1. Make sure that the apature ring is set to 'A' or automatic,
  2. if these are manual focus lenses then switch the focus switch on the left side of the camera body to MF
  3. If this still doesn't work, or you are having trouble with the apature ring then press the menu button to go to the  menu then press the right arrow key untill you are in the  Custom Settings, scroll through the custom settings with the up and down arrow keys until about the 2nd from bottom there is an option called "using aperture ring" set this to 2 (Permitted) This will make the camera take a image when lens is on any f-stop manually.
Try this and everything should work fine. If all this hasn't worked then try seting the mode dial on the camera to M manual mode. Cheers

SOURCE: can I use sunpak 1600a flash (older) with Pentax

Yes, it's possible.
The flash sensor is calibrated for a 35mm optics & iso (asa).

You may have to "UP" your digital camera's iso sensitivity to 800 or so.

You will have to experiment with it at various settings.
Try using the "bracket" sewtting on the camera.
It takes three pictures when you press the shutter button; the three have different "values" of brightness.

The bracket setting is on the UP arrow, where you can choose "single frame", "continuous frame", bracket, etc.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Pentax K10D shake reduction switch broken

Hi,
Repairing the camera is little bit tough for a end user but it can be repaired in any service center as it is a Pentax k10D I will recommend you to keep this camera because this days getting a Japan made camera is as tough as getting water in desert.

I switched of my pentax k10d during firmware update by mistake now it wont power on

That's the biggest "no-no" in the digital camera world. You need to e-mail the techs at the support section of the Pentax website for specific directions about what to do next. There's also a link for a "live chat" if you prefer that method.
