Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Having an issue with a Samsung un55h6203af LCD TV. There was a visible component burnt out on the power board, so I purchased a replacement. When you plug the TV in, there is an arc sounding 'pop' noise coming from the left corner of the TV. The TV will not power on. There are blue status lights on the T-Con board, but TV is stuck in loop where it will 'pop' and these lights will go off. Then come back on and 'pop' again. I thought replacing the power board would fix the issue with the TV, but there seams to now be additional issues. The area the sound is coming from is giving me no clues as to what the issue may be. Any help or advice would be appreciated!
I don't have the service manual for your set in front of me but I believe this sound is coming from the inverter board, the set takes 24 vdc from the power board into this board then increases the voltage to about 600 volts to drive the CCFL tubes in the panel, a guess would be you have a bad xfmr that is arcing on that board.

PEOPLE, YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE STORE, BUY THE SAME TV AGAIN, SWAP THE TV'S AT HOME AND RETURN THE "OLD" TV IN THE "NEW" BOX WITH THE NEW RECEIPT. IN THE CASE OF TOO MANY RETURNS, HAVE A FRIEND, MOM, DAD, SISTER, GIRLFRIEND TO BUY ONE FOR YOU AND DO THE SWAP LATER.
NOTE: I REALLY HATE DOING THIS TO THE STORES, BUT IF YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING IT SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 30-40 DAYS. PROBLEM SOLVED! :)

SOURCE: Samsung 55" TV does not turn on
CHECK YOUR RED ,GREEN AND BLUE CRT'S THERE MAY BE A SMALL CRACK ON THEM.MAKE SURE TO TAKE THE YOKE OFF AND INSPECT THE ENTIRE TUBE IF THER IS A CRACK IT IS CAUSING YOUR TV TO GO INTO SAFE MODE. ALSO CHECK THAT NONE OF THE COOLING FLUID HAS DRAINED OUT OF THE TUBES ON TO THE CRT BOARDS IF SO REPLACE THE BOARDS AND CRT IF CRACKED. YOU CAN FIND ALL THE PARTS AT PARTSTORE.COM HOPE THIS HELPS.

It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.
Thaks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.
