Most likely, the pump has stopped working. This is not repairable since part for the cleaning station are not available.

SOURCE: shaver suddenly stopped working
I had the same problem with mine right after the two year warranty expired.
BUT I FIXED IT!!!
The problem seems to be bad engineering. Apparently the cleaning solution works its way into the circuit board of the shaver.
I took the razor apart (you need very small phillips screwdrivers), there are six screws. First remove the foils, then the blades (just pull them up). Two screws are where the head rotates. after removing the head, there are two more screws underneath the head. There are two more screws on the bottom under plastic caps beside the charging terminal. You can now gently slide the razor's hardware out of the case by pulling up on the head mounting arms while holding the case as you normally would shaving. (This sounds confusing but should be obvious as you do it.)
Looking at the circuit board i noticed some white residue on the board. I gently cleaned the board with small amount of alcohol and q-tips, being careful not to catch any cotton on the components of the board. At this point you can at least confirm that the motor is not burnt out and the batteries are charged by placing a flathead screwdriver between the positive terminal of the battery and the motor. It should come on if the motor and batteries are okay.
Next you hit the reset button at the bottom-front, then see if it comes on using the on/off button. You can do this step with the razor disassembled or assembled.
Hopefully this works for you. Now if only i could figure out a way to clean and refill the cartridges instead of paying $5 for 5 cents worth of cleaning fluid.

Had this same problem with mine. One month after warranty was done with. I ended up opening the thing up and pulled the monster battery out of its socket and put it back in. Worked fine after that. One week and still strong. Another thing I did was to carefully bend up the flat pieces of copper around the battery to make sure they were still getting a good contact with the pins on the cover. Hope this works for you....
Also... I am not responsible for any damages that may occur.

To open model 8985 you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out.
If replacement parts are required, you will find all components for this model at shaveroutlet.com

You can replace the battery yourself. The battery can be purchased from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Braun-Li-ion-Battery-Pulsonic-Shavers/dp/B002S8UWMI and to replace it you will need to remove the rubberized back from the case. The black rubberized back is snapped into place on the silver case so to remove it the first thing to do is to remove the retaining screw. This screw is a Torx T8 and you can see it inside the socket for the power cord. Once this screw is removed, carefully insert a small blade in between the edge of the back and the case at the end away from the shaver head and gently pry up on the case back. Once you get a large enough gap, you can grab the edge of the back with your fingers and pull it off the case working toward the shaver head. The edge of the back by the shaver head has a small lip that slips into the case so it needs to be slipped out of the case edge last. Now you will see four Torx T8 screws holding down the plastic back to the silver case. Remove these screws and pull the back off the case straight up. You will now see the battery you need to replace in its holder. Remove the old battery from its holder and push in the new one in the same orientation. Replace and screw down the case back, snap on the black rubberized back and replace its retaining screw. Charge up the battery and you are good to go.
