I have the same problem. I will take the back off and look for the fuse.

I have the same problem the fuse is fine, calling polaroid has not helped either!

  • Anonymous May 12, 2008

to find the fuse you have to pop off a little black box, right next to where the cord plugs in. However after much frustration and reading about 200 reviews from other people with the same problem(circuit city reviews) I think I wasted alot of money on junk. We should all get on Polaroids back and make them issue a recall

I have a Polaroid FLM-3201 LCD TV about 1-1/2 years old and the picture is black. the sound works OK. I have heard about other posts replacing a fuse but I removed the back panel and could not locate a fuse. Any more ideas?

Same problem here! Has anyone found a solution!

I have the same problem but have found that "playing" with the remote for a while gets the picture on. The set will function properly until it is turned off. One time I pushed "guide" which turned the set off. The next time I turned it on it worked normally.

won't turn on. It just stays black and the blue light that signals on never appears. The red light just keeps coming back on. Any ideas

I contacted the better business bureau of Mass. which is where Polaroid company is located. within 30 days they sent someone to replace the core of my tv. the repairman said there are 100's of these. my tv was out of warranty for a month when it broke. I think everyone should contact the bbb.

If you have no power light at all on the front of your tv. Check the fuse by the power coard.

If you have a red light only and have the dark power board with black heat sinks. check the fuse in the center of the power board.

if the light turns blue when you hit the power button but no picture and have the dark power board replace the 2- 1000 mfd 10 volts caps with 2- 1000 mfd 16 volt caps at 105 deg.

need more help let me know

Hi my Polaroid film 3201 turns on then after the Polaroid logo comes on it stays black. The light is still on but nothing else tried changing channel and other buttons on both the tv and remote and nothing happens. I just found this tv at the dumpster with a sign that said it "works but takes time to warm up." I thought it would be a good project and a nice opportunity for my gf and I to have a tv :). I'm thinking of opening it up and checking the fuzes and checking for swollen capacitors. I have no idea which ones to check. Any idea what it could be or what would you do to trouble shoot it?

Your issue is more than likely with the power supply unit. I have the same problem and it turns out about 7 of the capacitors are blown.

Remote to my flm-3201 won't work. have lights, but no action. is there a way to reprogram the remote?

You need to find out first if the IR transmitter is puting out the signal, you can test it by using your digital camera, juts point the remote at the camera lens, you should see flashing light on your camera screen.

Flm-3201

Sounds like the back light is out, and the unit needs servicing. You can check this by shining a flashlight close to the surface, and if some image is seen, the the back light is the cause. Else the LCD driver is gone.

No picture Just Sound

Hi
There are different possibilities in your case¸but what happened to me ...
The LCD Backligh is out , I mean the bulbs or neons of the screen BACKLIGH, you have to check either the lights itself or the driver circuit which supply the HV to operate it, usually its a separate small long PCB beside the TV main board .
You can try this trick , Keep all lights off in the room and bring a table lamp, preferred a white neon one and face it lighted on the top of the screen with the TV on , try watch a very dark but exact picture with the sound you are hearing. This is a way to be sure that it is LCD backlights problem when using an external light to illuminate the screen .
It worked for me ,Good luck
