I am needing to unlock the password of an acer aspire i bought at a pawn shop

Hello, I have an old Acer Aspire 3680, the problem is once i press the power button the screen is frozen displaying only the Acer logo, i cannot even go to the BIOS (pressing F2) to change my setting to boot from a CD. Please help. THX

On Aspire model 1640 remove battery and remove rear cover and remove cmos battery... put it all back together and the password should be gone.

I have Acer Aspire 1640 Note book, having Intel Pentium M processor 1.73 GHz CPU and pre loaded with Linux Granular. I tried Windws XP installatin ( using Original CD) but notice that at the 'installing Windows' stage...shows "installing devices" time status indicator with 34 min left.... but nothing really happens... the screen is frozen, neither can I switch OFF the system...

Just remove the motherboard battery for 20 min and put it on. It will lose all the settings and you can get into bios

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 password
My advice to you is technical. You need to reset the CMOS on the motherboard internally. As for the password in vista unless you know it you will more than likely have to re-install vista or do a systme recovery by using the e-recovery partition that comes stock with ACER computers. I do not advise you to try resetting the cmos if your not technically capable

Just restore the operating system... it will get rid of the administrator password. There are multiple ways to do this.

The CMOS battery, is a unque item inside, usually in a trapdoor-like hatch near the battery cubby, remove the main battery before looking for it. It usually is covered in colored shrink wrap, it also can be several coin- sized batteries and a wire connects this to the motherboard.
