SOURCE: Hard reset for a HTC TyTn

There are two ways:

1.
Press and hold the two soft keys (the ones with dashes on) and at the same time insert the stylus in the soft reset hole. All three things need to be done together and a warning will appear. (it is a bit fiddly)

2
Go to Start>Settings>System (Tab)>Clear Storage (Icon)

SOURCE: Hard reset for a HTC Touch Diamond

I find certain voodoo rituals to do the trick. Especially those derived from rites originating in the southern gulf coast region. To start, build a low, hot burning fire pit surrounded by granitic stones roughly the size of oranges. Be sure you have a light bed of gravel beneath the fire itself to allow air space for the spirits to commune before entering the fire and your device. Use eucalyptus logs ages approximately 2 months for the fire itself, and sprinkle a solution of pulverized bat wings soaked in winter menstrual blood from a one year old goat. Wave your Diamond over the fire vigorously while chanting the names of all three major thorn gods repeatedly. That should do the trick.

SOURCE: want to factory reset an unlocked htc touch cdma (vogue)

All you have to do is... hold down the (RED) End button and the (GREEN) Send button at the same time, and while still holding them down POKE your stylus in the soft reset hole at the bottom of phone.
Soft Reset button is located to the right of the mini USB charging port, assuming the phone's screen is facing you.
Confirm you want to Format and Done!
P.S. Sometimes if you don't hold the Green and Red buttons hard enough they tend to unclick and reclick if you don't apply Firm and even pressure. Also if you still have trouble make sure the phone is in the BOOTING cycle when you attempt this.

It seems you need to reset your phone.

If your HTC HD2 is frozen and a soft reset doesn't work, this guide shows how to restore your handset to its factory settings with a hard reset
There are two ways you can perform a hard reset on your HTC HD2. The first is best if your phone is still operational. If it has crashed and you can't get a response from it, you're better to try option two.
Performing a factory reset via the settings menu
  1. On the Home screen's Settings tab, select Menu - All Settings - System - Clear Storage
  2. Enter 1234 and tap Yes to confirm
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
  1. If your phone has crashed and won't respond, you'll have to perform a battery pull to power the phone off. Simply take off the back cover and remove the battery. Otherwise, just turn your HTC HD2 off using the power button.
  2. With your phone powered off, press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons
  3. While holding the volume buttons, press the power button and then release it
  4. When you see a warning message on screen, release the volume up and volume down buttons
  5. Press the volume up button to perform the reset when prompted, or press any other button to cancel the reset

My htc went on low battery and now that i charged it the screen is black ... it just says tmobile g1 and then android and then it goes to a black screen

hi viviana escobar you can take the battery out of the phone next take the sim card out. Now put the sim card back into the phone and then the battery this should reboot your network as well as the phone. Now if after this your phone still doesn't turn on you need to a hard reset. this will wipe out all the data on your phone. To do a hard reset on your phone hold the power button and volume up and down at the same time. Next you should see a screen that should shows fast reboot erase user data. This is should help.

I'm sorry, but I think you will need to contact T-Mobile for support. Call them from another phone at 1-800-T-Mobile.
If you don't care much about the info on the phone, then do a hard reset to factory defaults.

HTC touch HD is completley frozen

If you have all your items saved to your computer with Active Sync, then do a master reset:
HTC Touch hard reset 14 January 2008
  • Power on.
  • Press and hold buttons marked 1.
  • Press and release 2 with stylus.
  • Release buttons marked 1 when menu comes up.
  • Press directly down on center dpad, marked 3.
You can also get tips & tricks from www.htcwiki.com
It has the latest and great updates, software, even known issues if you ever come across this. HTC does recommend that you do a master/hard reset once a quarter to keep it moving smoothly. Also, ensure you don't have a lot of open running programs. Perhaps once a day, clean the cashe and history. Do a soft reset (aka battery pull) once or twice a week. All depends on how hard you play with this lovely PDA device!

Hang up

I had the same problem > HARD RESET worked. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and also press the RESET button [at the bottom of the phone], all of this in the same time.
Then release the RESET button but continue to press the TALK and END buttons, and a message will appear asking you if you really want to reset everything.
