I had this problem and contacted Philips Norelco about it. We went through the possibilities and found the answer. It.lies in the head holder base plate. You need to replace it. You'll probably half to buy the entire head. But that's a lot cheaper then buying an entirely new shaver.
btw-- you can easily prove this is the problem by removing the top of the head -- the part that holds the blades -- turning the shaver on, and then pressing the spinning spindles against the palm of you hand. It'll screech. If you remove the head entirely there will be no screeching. So it's gotta be in the base part of the head...
Most likely, the noise is cause by a damaged blade or comb. The best thing to do is to replace them. You will find the correct replacements for model AT890 at shaveroutlet.com

The shaver head symbol means the motor isn't starting, which all the support info assumes is because the heads are too gunked up with hair and congealed moisturizer etc, so clean it. In my case it was because the motor had seized - I completely dismantled the razor and turned the cog attached to the motor spindle by hand while turning the razor on, which was enough to free it up and kickstart it - you'll need some torx screwdriver bits - remove the battery cover (it may be a bit sticky since it is wedged against a rubber seal that it may have stuck to, but it does just lift off, there's nothing to snap), remove the black plastic retainer underneath that which hides a couple of screws holding the head assembly (you may need to prise the battery up to get at them) - undo them and you should be able to pull the head assembly off and push the motor up from underneath to free the plate holding the three cogs driving the head - beneath that is a big cog attached directly to the spindle, spin that by hand while starting the razor and it should hopefully spring back into life since you'll have freed the seized spindle.
SOURCE: loud squealing noise
The noise is most likely the serpentine belt. Check it's condition and that of the belt tensioner. It sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the squealing noise u describe. As the belt warms up, it's getting a better 'grip' and the noise stops. Turning on the heat also turns on the a/c in newer cars, this added drag on the belt (one more component to turn, the a/c compressor) would explain why it happens when u turn on the heat. Is the belt original? If yes, it's time to change it, and check the belt tensioner to make sure it's doing it's job of keeping the belt snug on all the pulleys. Let me know how u make out.

SOURCE: aloud squeal.
You need to tighten the altinator belt..
It squeels and falls off because it is too loose..
Losten the two bolt a bit on the altinator so it will move..
Put the belt on - loose is ok right now..
Use a very large scewdriver or a crowbar - find leverage - to push on the altinator in the derection that tightens the belt..
Once you have some good force on it - keep the force on it as you tighten the bolts..
This will take care of the problem.. ;o)
