HOw do you install a water pressure valve on a 1998 70 hp Evinrude 4 stroke engine

SOURCE: I have a 1976 75 hp 2 stroke evinrude that is overheating.

In the bottom of the engine is a rubber impeller/water pump. It is in the housing above the prop, not hard to change. Basic tools a six pack and about an hour. The part will cost you about $20, and you can order it from NAPA parts store. They will be about 50% less than a boat shop. Good Luck

Hi, did you buy your engine used? Sounds like your gonna have to get the carb or carbs cleaned. Its possible you could have a stopped up fuel filter, or not enough spark but i am guessing its gonna be the carbs. They got some gunk in em i bet. Probably old fuel turned to gunk from setting up. I had the same problem on my 40 horse.

The oil is mixed with the gas, just buy 2 cycle engine oil and follow ratio mixture

The proper adjustment is achieved when the notch in the actuator lines up with the pin hole in the cylinder casting.
