Whirlpool Dryer, Heats up, but will not spin.

Earlier in the week my dryer would spin but would not heat up. I have since changed the heating element and it worked for 2 days and now it will not spin. I got my mutilmeter back out and started testing things and it appears the Thermal Fuse is bad, however I thought that would keep it from heating, not keep it from spinning, anyone have advice?

Thermal fuse , is the small white plastic piece on the blower box . That , keeps the dryer from running . Thermal cut-off , is the small thermostat on the burner (element) box , which would keep the dryer from heating .

What should the test on thermal cut-off show?

The belt was broken in my case. There are several Youtube videos show how to replace it. I purchased a repair kit from Amazon and fixed it myself.

Good Luck

Whirlpool Imperial Series Dryer is Not Drying But Has Heat

Make sure it's blowing air out the vent outside. But even though it's heating doesn't mean it's heating 100 percent so u might need a heating element. Not to expensive to buy and often not to hard to change, refer to owners Manuel or a computer on how to change it.

Gonna need a new belt (if you can hear the motor whirring with your ear to the top of the machine).

Our Whirlpool Senseon Dryer stopped heating. It's

I had the same problem. I replaced the thermistor, heating element and another part and still didn't correct problem. i finally had a friend come check it and believe it or not it was the 30 amp fuse in my fuse panel of the house.Come to find out the dryer will run and everything works like it should on 1/2 of the 220 plug but the other half runs the heating element. Both fuses must be good. I replaced the 30 amp round fuse and it works and heats perfect. I hope this helps you and saves you some time and money.

Dryer heats up but doesn't dry clothes take 3 hours after restarting 3 times to dry 3 articles of clothing.

It's not your heating element. Your venting system is clogged. Like mine was. You'll need to take care of this ASAP and from then on at least once a year. It is a fire hazard. Not only that if left this way It can kill your heating element.

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!

Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off

Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Dryer spins but will not heat . Electric dryer, whirlpool. Model leq9508pwo serial #ms4347944

Ok this can be 1 of 4 problems:

1. your breaker is connected to the only one side of the panel
2. your breaker s fried and needs replaced.
(both of these can be elliminated by using an electrical tester on the outlet)(240 Volt)
3. you temperature thermostat if bad
4. your heating element is bad.
Or if the dryer heats a little then stops heating your vent hose may be kinked or plugged.

Heating element heats up, but dryer will not spin.

Since you stated that the heating element is heating up I believe it rules out the thermal switches.
When you push the start button does it make the motor make any noise? Maybe hear the motor humming? Two things to check for are Broken Belt or Bad Motor:
This requires common sense and since you are going to be bypassing the safety features you need be CAREFUL.

First, with door open, manually press in door switch to by-pass door safety, then press "start", try to manually start the dryer by spinning the drum by hand, If you hear the motor humming but it does not start spinning on it's own; most likely it is a broken belt which can be changed without much difficulty for less than $15 bucks. NOW if it then continues to spin on it's own GET YOUR HAND OUT OF THERE and close the door; you have a bad motor and even though it started it needs to be replaced. A motor for that is available for just under $100 bucks and is not to bad to replace, I would recommend replacing the belt at the same time since you will be in there. Good Luck!

No heat after a minute of drying

Your GAS dryer has no element.
You should remove the vent from the rear of the dryer.
Run on hi heat with no laundry.
Your exhaust temperature should be from 130 to 165 degrees.
If not you have a thermostat problem or a ignitor/gas valve problem.
