Hi!
It's probably a loose connection between CCD and main board. It's a well know problem with these cameras. If you want to fix it yourself, take off the front cover, then back cover, remove the frame on which the LCD is on, be very careful with the keyboard cable. I suggest you don't disconnect it! Check the CCD connection to the board.
I work in a Kodak service center.

Hope this helps!

The above solution worked for me, with the same problem! Opened up the whole camera, including the cover that the LCD is on, and saw that one piece was sticking up a bit. I pushed this down until it seemed to click in a bit, and lo and behold, the purple and pink went away.
THANK YOU!! :)

Horizontal pink lines on print every inch or so.

Do the magenta lines go outside the picture into the white border? If so, the print head has gone bad, and the cost to replace a print head is more than a new printer.

Have you tried display the photos on another PC? (Or you can try to display the photos to you TV)
If the problem still exists, then the problem is likely to be with your camera.

If the pink line only appears on your PC, then this is likely to be some software/hardware problem of your PC/Monitor.

Canon MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

Reddish cast in photos, white objects look pink.

Hello dcmassey, the cause of the problem can be CCD imager. So, the best solution is to claim for Sony recall. If there is some other problem ask for the price estimate. Please contact the nearest Authorized Sony Service. Best regards, Arpi
