If m3 phase the possibility is for the motor to run backward depending on lead connections. If you replace motor wire it up and press contractor and close power contacts let go and observe motor rotation. If needed to change rotation switch lead 1 and 3. When I installed pumps I removed coupling to run motor..

Is It possible to measure the incoming power? I don;t know where you are but Us the most common for such items is 208-230 3 phase I20 from leg t ground. phase to phase 208 -203. I worked with 480 3 phase but the logic applies. If you can get to breaker it should be labeled . Another is 3 phase has 3 pairs of contacts, the single phase has 1 or 2 . How big is the motor? Does the motor have name plate. Your right that will be a hard manual to find. maybe on the country.

SOURCE: Need to convert 3 phase Hobart dishwasher to single phase

It will not be inexpensive to convert your dishmachine over to three phase. With everything that you will need to replace, depending on the model if converyor or not it may run close to what it costs to have 3phase run to the building that you plan to move into.

SOURCE: Need to change oven from 440 3 phase to 220 single

It can be done with a transformer, 480/ 240 single phase transformer to get the lower voltage. Then the oven will require some wiring changes to get all the elements and controls connected to two hot wires instead of three. The transformed will be sized to the wattage rating of the oven. This is a only basic description of what needs to take place.

SOURCE: hobart model 5801 meat saw conversion from 3 phase

No, you need a new motor or a converter, but in the case of one saw, it wouldn't be worth the conversion. Just find an old single phase motor that will fit height wise and you should be all set. The speed is the same, the direction can be switched and the HP should not matter much, 1/2 , 1, depends on what you find out there. They all should cut wood no problem. Hope this helps.

I have Hobart D300 mixer which operates at 220V, 3phase supply and whereas the facility has 208V, single phase supply. Is there any recommended phase converters available for this product. Thanks

Hi Bill
I may be wrong here......
But I've been around Electricity for a long time.
Have Never seen a device that does phase conversion.
A Building site or home will either have Three Phase or Single Phase Power Available
BUT...A portable (Hired) generator could be "three phase" and you could use any one of those phases individually or all three phases.

I have 3 Phase supply to my house!
But I use 230 volt Single Phase for appliances.
My Bore Pump uses a 3 Phase Motor,
(so with a voltmeter it would read about 440 vAC to the pump motor).
Some Further Info:
A GENERATOR is basically a motor used the opposite way. Rotate a motor and it Generates.
The Phases refer to the THREE Windings in the supplying generator in your suburb.
A Large Magnet passes each winding in sequence giving you the three ripples in the supply.
Our houses can choose to have 1 Phase or Three Phases from the street when you set up your electric supply.
So... to confirm, look at the wires on the supply poles to the premises. Usually three in our area (Oz)
Most people are not aware that a car Alternator is actually three phase. The Rotor is the magnet that rotates.
The only difference with an Alternator is that each "Phase" is connected to 2 Diodes (6 total) to convert the three phase to DC to charge the vehicle.
The Regulator controls the voltage to the Rotor, thereby controlling the output.
So.... An Alternator could in theory supply 3 Phase in a mobile generator. Custom Made. Constant speed would determine the frequency of 50Hz or 60Hz.
Not sure what country you are in

Hope this Helps or gives you food for thought!

I want to wire up my new 3 phase well pump. The motor has 3 terminals and an earth terminal. I believe that the arrangement of wires on the motor doesn't matter what order they are in (except of course the...

Yes, that's correct. However, it may not be obvious that the pump is running backwards, since it will pump water in the correct direction with the motor running in either direction. This is because the pump vane acts as a centrifuge. Rotating in either direction, it will **** in the center and blow to the outside. However, due to the shape of the pumping chamber, it will perform much better in the correct direction. I would try it both ways just to be sure. Good luck, Al K

Good!

MOTOR:

21?2 H.P., Hobart designed, high torque ball bearing,

ventilated within mixer enclosure. Single-phase is

capacitor-start, induction-run type.

Three-phase is

polyphase squirrel cage, induction-run type.

Single Phase 208V 20.0 Amps

240V 17.0 Amps

Three Phase 208-240V 8.6 Amps

Can I change the 3 phase to a single phase?

Not practical. You would have to change the pump motor to single phase, you'd have to chage the heating element most likely depending on what size is in it now. Also does it require an auxiliary water heater? it's probably 3 phase also. Changing phases is not like changing voltages.

As soon as we close down the lid the circuit breaker trips off ! our model is the 505048 passthrough dishwasher ck 0777

There is a short circuit in the electric system in the dishwasher. As soon as you shut the hood, the circuit is completed and causes the breaker to trip.

You will need a technician to find the leaky part. Most likely the water is leaking into the motor / pump area causing a short circuit.

Best to disconnect from the mains and check for leaky gaskets. I believe this uses a 3 phase 400V which can be converted to single phase. So also make sure there is no unbalance in the mains power phases if you are using 3 phase supply.

This dishwasher is older than most living people in this business. It works great except it is a 208 three phase unit. It is in St.Peter's church in New York Mills, MN. We bought it used during our remodel...

Your AM9 is too old to get new parts from Hobart.
Why does the inverter need to run when the machine is not in use? There must be a breaker to turn it off.
If you decide to replace it, any AM series will fit your tables. Don't buy anything older than AM14.

Wiring a 230V 3 phase heat pump

yes, this is quite important when it comes time to turn the motor. in 3 phase, motor rotation direction is critical importance. however, it is a simple matter of trial and error if only a fan is involved...not sure of consequences if freon pump is turned backwards...may want to remove pump wiring temporarily...so try "bumping" the fan only...your method for this "fan only" is yours to figure out. try to set to "fan only" somehow then apply power. if fan turns backwards, the take any 2 black wires and reverse connections. fan should now turn in proper direction.
