Hi, Looks like the OS is corrupted, but you can restore it by restoring to the previous date, for that you need the OS installation cd. Just insert the cd and wait for few munites to load files, then you will see the restoring option. Hope this helps, thanks for using fixya!
Welcome to Fixya. To be able to fix the issue you need to press FN + Numlock key of your keyboard. The numlock key is on that's why number appears instead of letters. Numlock key is next to F12 button.
You can manually open the DVD drive by inserting a strsighten paper clip into a tiny hole just beleow the drive tray. Push the paper clip into this hole gently and the tray will pop out slightly, then grab the tray and pull it out until the tray is in the fully opened position.
With SATA it will not matter which plug you use first or last. They will be recognized by the system no matter what.
