SOURCE: head of philips norelco speed xl fell apart.

Same thing happened to my father's shaver. After working on it for about 30 mins, this is how I fixed it. You need to start with the top silver piece/cover. Turn it over so you see inside of it. Drop the 3 screens into the holes upside down (so they face out). You need to rotate the screens until they sit as low as possible. Now drop in the 3 blades, again sharp side down. There should be a triangular piece with 3 circles attached to it. One side is gray, and the other side has a black triangular piece. If you look closely each leg of the black piece has a tiny picture of a lock and an arrow. Rotate the black piece in the opposite direction of the arrow. Place the gray side down lining it up with the three blades. Now rotate the black piece, it will lock into position, and hold the blades in place! Finally, the silver head has a little hinge on one side. This hinge is flexiable. Bend it to a 90 degree angle, and slip it into the notch on the top part of the main body of the shaver. Close the head part, in my father's shaver I had to press a lever in the front to snap it into place.

Hope this helps!

HQ5 is not compatible with HQ55. I've checked the Service Manual and HQ5 is the correct part. It's got to do with the driving mechanism for the head.

It sounds like one of the heads is damaged. You will need to replace it. These come in sets of 3 combs and 3 cutters.

SOURCE: Weed Eater WT 3100 how do I remove/replace cutting head

If the unit has a clutch, it will spin up to the crankshaft of the engine. Try to grip the top part with something to hold it..if there is an arbor there, it can be jammed in place by inserting a small blade screwdriver in one of the holes, If the unit has no clutch (but it probably does), you would remove the spark plug...rotate the engine so the piston is down, and insert a lenth of clean soft rope in the engine so that when you turned the whole drive and crank, the engine would lock up compressing the rope allowing you to remove the head assembly.

Norelco seems to have discontinued the HQ6 blade/head that I need for my 7845XL Quadra shaver. On a site that sells, they explicitly say that the HQ8 blade/head is a fit for my model. Is that correct?

Philips says that the HQ8 fits the 7845XLon the product page here: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/HQ8_52/norelco-shaving-heads . However, Philips also says that this blade/head is discontinued and replaced by the SH50. This replacement does not appear to be compatible with the Quadra Action 7845XL. You can confirm this here: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/SH50_52/norelco-shaver-series-5000-shaving-heads .

I hope this helps.

The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, does this model support multi-voltage charging ie. 100v - 240v? Or is it only 100-120v?

Welcome to Fixya,

According to the manual of The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, use only the cord and charging stand that was provided. Also you just have to plug the adaptor into 120V AC outlet.

If you want to know more about your Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, just click here for the manual.

Hope this will help you and answered your question.

Hurts when shaving facial hair like its pulling it out

Check the shaver head for damage. Most likely, there is damage to the thin foil. If so, you will find a replacement at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Can I replace the trimmer blades (not the shaver heads) on my Philips 8175XL? I use them all the time and they are wearing out. Where do I get them and how do I install them?

You will find a replacement trimmer at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-parts/norelco-philips-8100-series-sideburn-trimmer-p-388.html

See disassembly video tutorial at shaveroutlet.com using the link below. You will not have to disassemble as far as the video shows. Just remove the back cover and the trimmer can be 'disjointed' from the cover
