SOURCE: sound problem
This is a manufaturing defect. Contact the manufacturer and have the device replaced. They will want a proof of purchase for the device but I managed to get around this for I think this has been a common defect for them. They supplied me with a Return Authorization Number and I received a brand new replacement in less than a week. When you send the device back, make sure you send it by Fed-Ex or UPS that will have a tracking number just in case.

Clean out the headphone jack, the phone is dirty in there and thinks it has buds plugged in and you won't hear stuff just like that, there's many other reasons but that one happens to me most
Can you pull battery? Some have power+volume up +volume down reset
