SOURCE: Small Kalvinator chest freezer quit working,

If not running then jump out thermostat. If running then throw it out as it has a sealed system issue not worth repairing unless it is under wty. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

SOURCE: My GE chest freezer quit working. When I plug it

there is a chance that your over load and starter ptc has gone bad. the worst case your compressor has gone bad.

Power to the unit? Power from on/off switch to thermostat? Power from thermostat to compressor?

You can bypass the thermostat and it will run continuously, or replace the thermostat

I have a kenmore chest freezer model 19502/19702. I had it unpluged for 5 months. When I plugede it back in the power light flickers. Tryed other outlet. Other then that it seems to be working

We purchased this same Kenmore chest freezer model 19502/19702 in 2010. In less than 2 years the compressor quit. If you do a search on this model you will see dozens of complaints. Don't waste your time or money on this freezer.

Hums seconds only does not freeze

If it hums then quits and hums and quits and just keeps doing this then either the compressor start relay is burned out or the compressor is seized. Unless you are capable of diagnosing this you should have a tech check it out. If it's just a relay they are relatively cheap, but if it's the compressor it could cost more than the freezer is worth.

Feel compressor to see if running and warm. If not, most likely thermostat control is bad. If it is running, determine if it runs continuously or if it's clicking on and off every couple minutes. If clicking on and off, replace overload and relay that plugs into side of compressor. If running continuously, there is probably a freon leak on blockage. Replace freezer in latter scenario
