What do the indicator lights in my NEFF dishwasher mean?

I have a NEFF dishwasher - not sure which model. There are 3 indicator lights on the top of the door on the right hand side. One is a faucet, one is an S and one looks like a snowflake. What do these mean?

SOURCE: adjusting the door on a neff dishwasher

I have the same problem with my newly installed Miele integrated dishwasher. The door does not stay open when you are trying to load dishes. I heard that there is an adjustable internal mechanism to adjust the tension on the door. But, I am still working on solving my problem.

SOURCE: Neff dishwasher door problem.

The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem.

SOURCE: Dishwasher pump keeps running

This is caused by a water leak into the base pan,it will trigger the anti flood and the machine will continously drain out even with the door open, you need to establish what is leaking,if you leave the appliance standing for a few days it will start again as the water will evaporate however if the fault returns you will definetly have aleak on the appliance which will require further investigation.

SOURCE: kenmore dishwasher leaking from bottom of door

This is commonly caused by a worn door seal. Over time, these seals compress to the point where they no longer seal correctly, or food particles and grime get caught between the door and seal and leave small air gaps. The silverware tray (if located along the left or right side) can also cause damage to the door seal as utensils get caught on the seal surface as you roll the lower rack in and out of the tub. As water splashes up against the inner door facing it rolls out the bottom of the door, or down along the sides instead of staying in the tub. The only other items that can contribute to leaking are:

1. A dishwasher that is not level, which causes the door not to seal properly.

2. The inner door panel being warped causing the door facing not to be even for the gasket to seat properly.

3, Dish placement. If you place bowls, serving trays and large tumblers in the front row of the bottom rack on some dishwashers it can contribute to water being deflected over the front edge of the tub and out the bottom of the door (Believe it or not, I've seen it happen).

NOTE: Most dishwashers do not have a seal across the front lip of the tub. That's why it's important to have a good door seal and to load it properly.

If you've loaded the dishwasher properly and confirmed it is level (front to back and side to side), then here are your options:

1. Replace the inner door panel at a cost of about $115.

2. Replace the door seal at a cost of about $35-$40.

Parts can be purchased from any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
appliancepartspros.com
pcappliancerepair.com
repairclinic.com

Use whatever parts source you like, but I have found these to be the cheapest and most reliable sites to order parts from. Shop all of them for the best price.

NOTE: The inner door panel is listed under the Door Parts section. The tub gasket will be listed under the Tub Parts section.

I think I would pursue the cheaper option, first. Its also the much simpler option. To replace the door seal, follow these steps:

1. Pull the old door seal from the groove around the wash tub facing. Take note of which surface area of the gasket is inserted in the groove and which surface is facing the door. It may not seal properly if you install the gasket the wrong way.

2. Clean the area really well to ensure there are no food debris or soap deposits. Also clean the inner door area where the door meets the gasket. You need a clean surface for the best results.

3. Locate the center mark of the new gasket. This will be a small paint spot or small groove on the gasket (this surface is the side of the gasket that will be inserted in the groove around the tub facing). If there is no center mark, fold the gasket in half and mark the location with some chalk, or hold with your fingers.

4. Locate the top center part of the wash tub facing and align the center mark of the door gasket at that point. Begin pushing the gasket into the groove with your hands and work your way around and down along each side.

5. Make sure the gasket is inserted all the way around the tub facing to the point where it meets the wash tub bottom. You can pull the gasket out and readjust as necessary.

This repair should take you about 30 minutes or less to complete. Its simple and requires no tools. The door will be tough the shut for a while until the gasket compresses and takes the door shape. Do not slam the door if it becomes difficult to shut. Simply close the door and the push firmly at the point just above the door latch until the latch clicks. Slamming the door can damage the control panel components, the door latch and/or the hinges. If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Neff dishwasher tap light flashing -

If your Neff dishwasher is showing a flashing tap light, it typically indicates a water supply issue. Here's a short guide to address the problem:
  1. Check Water Supply: Ensure the water supply valve under the sink is fully open.
  2. Filter & Hose: Examine the inlet hose for kinks or bends and the filter at the connection point for blockages.
  3. Water Pressure: Low water pressure can also trigger this warning. Verify that your home's water pressure is adequate.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, there might be a more complex problem, such as a faulty water inlet valve or a problem with the dishwasher's control system. In such cases, consulting the user manual or contacting Neff customer support for further assistance would be advisable.

Just moved into a house with fitted NEFF dishwasher, never had one before and no manual left. Where do salts go? Thanks

Hi there,

The salt goes in the salt compartment in the base of the dishwasher. Open the door and pull the lower basket out. You should then be able to see a cap near the front-left corner of the base of the dishwasher. Unscrew this cap (anti-clockwise) and fill the compartment with salt all the way to the top - or with as much salt as you have in the packet - then screw the cap back on firmly, but do not over-tighten it. The salt compartment will (or should!) be full of water and some will spill out as you fill it with salt. This is totally normal and not indicative of any problem.

Do not use any type of salt which is not sold specifically for dishwashers. The dishwasher can be used without salt but it is not advised and may result in a white film being left on your cutlery, glassware and/or dishes.

It may also be possible to provide a user manual in PDF format which you can download, but I would need to know the model number. If you don't know the model number Most Neff/Bosch dishwashers have the model number laser-etched into the stainless-steel at the top of the inner-door or the rim of the washing compartment. Please click on the link below for a guide to locating the model number of your dishwasher. (Neff is a Bosch owned brand)

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you would like the manual or need further assistance.

The top arm will not rotate.Have checked to make sure that no holes blocked and arm rotates freely.Bottom arm works ok

Check the transfer pipe that takes water to the top arm, it could be cracked, loose, kinked or blocked. Try back pressurising it from the top rotating arm attachment pipe. This will give you an indication where a leak could be or blow out a blockage.

I have a top drawer and a bottom drawer type. My

1. Locate the "Energy Saver/Dry" button on the dishwasher. The location of this button will be different depending upon the specific model number of the dishwasher, but should be easy to spot. If you have trouble finding it, you can check the diagram in the manual of your dishwasher for the exact location for your specific model.

2. Press and hold down this "Energy Saver/Dry" button for at least four seconds. Make sure that you do not release the button until at least 4 seconds have passed, otherwise the lock will not become disabled.

3. Check to make sure that the child lock indicator light has turned off. If this light is no longer on, this means you were successful at turning off the child lock. If the light is still on, repeat the process, but try to press and hold the "Energy Saver/Dry" button for a few seconds longer. If it still doesn't work, there may be a more complicated issue with your dishwasher. Consult your manual, or call to the manufacturer or repair man to determine if there is another problem with your dishwasher.

Dishwasher not starting when door closes

What your saying is suggesting a water supply issue. The Model number you've given can not be found on the Neff website.

You will need to disconnect power, turn the water supply off (under sink or behind dishwasher), disconnect the water line, put the end of the hose in a bucket or cup, turn water back on slowly and make sure water flows. Turn back off. If water flows -

Then check that there is not a restriction in the water solenoid valve. If you know how to use a multimeter, check the water valve solenoid for continuity.

Plug the unit back in, and initiate a wash cycle, and watch for voltage applied to the water solenoid valve. If you get voltage, you should hear the valve open.
Power the unit off, connect the water line, and repower the unit. Check again if water does or doesnt flow.

Let me know what you find.

NEFF DISHWASHER S5443 STUCK IN TEST MODE

First try disconnecting the unit, completely from any power, for an hour or more, look in any control doors or access points for a small battery mounted to a board or in a holder, if you find one, take it out also, noting the positive and negative orientation.

If that doesn't do it, there are reset buttons under the tops or lids of some NEFF models, if there is an obvious lid after trying the no power trick, take off the top and look for a stand alone reset button.

If all that fails, write me back

Hi there.

Check salt and rinse-aid levels first. Often there is an indicator if either of these falls below a level.

When was the last time you filled them?

Top up rinse aid to mark, and add at least 1kg of salt.
Run M/c on a quick cycle and see if it's back to normal.

Hope this helps you.
