you can fix it, the memory was broken, buy new pendrive

may be the flash drive is locked...unlock the pendrive and then try again.
formatting can be done in other way.
goto run,type cmd,press enter,then type format f: in the cmd and press enter.this formats the drive

Hi Virus or Trojans can run some process that keeps running in background. This not only harms the computer, but also prevents the pen drive from formatting as it shows that the drive is in use. Remove and re-insert the pen drive, don't double click on drive and cancel auto run operations if it starts automatically. Run a virus scan on pen drive, this will help fix the issue. Now format the pen drive.

check your drive on some other usb port, if it gives the same massage, then replace it

opening pen drive, it shows 'please insert the disk' & it shows 0 bytes & while trying to format it shows the same message again , i am using 2 gb pendrive of trancend.
