No Sound from Subwoofer

I've tried a couple types of chords from the subwoofer port in the back of my Pioneer VSX 818V to my onkyo subwoofer, but haven't been able to get sound. Any suggestions on the chord or set up?

The original Pioneer subwoofer has its own amplifier built in to the speaker, so the only cable required on the original speaker is a single RCA cable. To connect a different brand subwoofer to the Pioneer you will have to make sure that you have a subwoofer with the same specs. It will need its own built in amp to work, as you can only connect it with one RCA

Pioneer vsx 818 v NO SOUND ON SUB WOOFER

Hi Joshyinoman, your subwoofer, is active, that is, it has its own amplifier, just take the bass audio signal from your Pioneer
Check if it is properly plugged into the power outlet, if the signal cable is properly and correctly connected to the Subwoofer Out of the Pioneer
If all this is well, then you have a problem with the internal amplifier, if so, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem

No sound from subwoofer

Make sure your front speakers are set to small in the setup menu. Regardless of how large your speakers are, if they are set to large the receiver will put the low frequency sound out the speaker jacks and turn off the subwoofer output

Pioneer VSX-815-K receiver with sub in standby

Have you looked in the manual?

No sound from subwoofer. • Make sure the subwoofer is switched on.
• If the subwoofer has a volume knob, make sure it’s turned up.
• The Dolby Digital or DTS source you are listening to may not have an LFE channel.
• Switch the subwoofer setting in Speaker Setting on page 40 to YES or PLUS.
• Switch the LFE Attenuator Setup on page 61 to LFEATT 0 or LFEATT 10.

Pioneer VSX 818V No Sound

First thing to check is the Speaker Select Switch. It will say, "A" "AB" or "Both" it will be displayed on the LCD screen as well. Second if that's ok, Check the "Direct" switch. If it's on, turn it off. Generally if it's on, you will see a blue light if it's on (most receiver's)

If you still have No audio, hook up your DVD to the "Direct" input and turn "Direct" on. If you have audio then. The DSP chip is probably bad and you should take it to a shop and have them bench it first to confirm. Hope this helps

Pioneer vsx-519 no sound from center and surround

Make sure that the sound field/programme you have selected is dolby digital not stereo.(On the amp)
You also need to check on the display that is says DIGITAL not ANOLOUGE, as only a digital input, Optical fibre cable, HDMI, COAX will be a digital signal.
If you are using red and white rca connectors, it is not going to work, as this is an Anolouge signal.

No sound from subwoofer

On screen setup needs a separate RCA video cable besides the HDMI connection. There are 3 ways to do the subwoofer. One is the rt left B speakers, which mean both A and B speakers need to be on. The other two ways is using one of the single plugs for the subswoofer on the back. The one in the middle did not work for me but the other did. Be sure to setup correctly when you can on the screen, and make sure the configuration includes a Subwoofer as one of your speakers.

Pioneer VSX-505S Subwoofer Installation

That type of subwoofer is not used with this receiver. This receiver actually outputs no power for a subwoofer, therefore only needs a plain ol' rca signal wire. This is due to the fact that you need a powered sub... one that you plug in to the wall and it has its own built in amp. you simply run an rca from yyour 505s to that sub.
