Print starts fine then fades

When printing, the ink starts coming out fine. By the second page (sometimes the first), the blacks fade to magenta and the other colors fade out as well. If I go to print later, the same thing, normal dark start then fading.

Have replaced the cartridges and aligned the print heads. Any ideas?

Self test page had some streaking throughout the blue (cyan. The box/slant/box line looks like it may be the wrong color. Blacks, grays, and colors (except cyan) look solid. Bird looks right.

How to improve print quality
Cleaning the print head
To ensure good print quality, the MFC will regularly clean the print
head. You can start the cleaning process manually if needed.
Clean the print head and ink cartridges if you get a horizontal line in
the text or graphics on your printed pages. You can clean Black only
or three colors at a time (Cyan/Yellow/Magenta), or all four colors at
once.
Cleaning the print head consumes ink. Cleaning too often uses ink
unnecessarily.
Caution
Do NOT touch the print head. Touching the print head may cause
permanent damage and may void the print head’s warranty.
1 Press Ink.
2 Press or to select Cleaning.
Press Menu/Set.
3 Press or to select Black, Color or All.
Press Menu/Set.
The MFC will clean the print head. When cleaning is finished,
the MFC will go back to standby mode automatically.
If you clean the print head at least five times and the print has
not improved, call Brother Customer Service (see Brother
numbers on page i).

Black ink prints half a page then fades out. Sometimes does not print black at all. I have replaced the black ink cartridge twice and ran "clean printheads" many times. Still will not work

HI since you tried replacing the cartridges and cleaning the printhead, try the steps below.

1.Print a Demo Page.

a.Press the Menu button of the printer.
b.Use the down arrow key and select Print Demo Sheet.
c.Press OK button.

If demo page doesnt have black ink or faded prints, the printhead on your printer require replacement. Call 1.800.421.6699

Thanks.

Problem with printing in black writing not clear and very faded.

It sounds like you need to run a printhead cleaning. The print head is what you put the ink cartridges into, it's responsible for placing ink directly to the page. If the some of the nozzles are clogged up, it can give you bad print quality. Without knowing the exact model of your printer, I can't tell you exactly where to find the menus needed to run the cleaning. Sometimes you can do this via the "maintenance" tab in the printers properties. If you need any further assistance, feel free to let me know.

I have a Xerox Phaser 8400 with image problems. After power up it prints a Startup Page - That page is black text which faded and slightly distorted in some areas and in areas that are in Color only...

What you are describing is a bad print head. You can try running the eliminate light stripes several times, and jet substitution, but most likely the print head will have to be replaced to remedy your problem.
You can try googling. Phaser printer print heads or phaser printheads.
There seems to be a secondary market appearing for those print heads. I can tell you from Xerox, if you have no maintenance agreement, they cost $750 per print head.
Honestly, having worked on about every type of color printer known to man, the new solid ink phaser printers, produce a dry ink image of 2400 x 2400 dpi with ink particles that align end to end. The resolution of those printers are remarkable and can be purchased for less than the price of one of those new print heads.
Now for reliable, albeit somewhat not as sharp a color image, but still exceptional, you really can not beat an HP.
The ink stick technology really no longer has the color vividness advantage it initially had. The inks that align end to end, have ended that advantage and are sure a lot cheaper to operate per page.

Print faded after replacing black cartridge Brother 240C

The print heads don't appreciate being out of ink so the Brother printer has sensors to prevent that but the tape defeated that prevention. Maybe more cleanings or maybe a cartridge with printhead cleaning solution will help. Otherwise, I fear a new printer.

Faded print on one side of page

I have a SCX-4100 Samsung, replaced the tonger cartridge, it was working fine for a few hundred sheets of printing, but after that, the left side of the page was printed very light, faded.
If I run the "Clean Drum", it will print a litter better, but still faded.
What can I do to correct this problem?
Thank you

My magenta will not print well

Here's what you should do. Remove all ink cartridges. Get some rubbing alcohol, preferrably 91% proof (leaves less moisture) Get a couple normal paper towels. Check each cartridge for dried ink and remove it using an alcohol wetted paper towel. (The deep cleaning procedures aren't always effective.) The gold contacts on each cartridge should be gold when you are done. Use the same procedure on the gold contacts of the ink cartridge housing inside the printer. Take your time, do it well. If that does not fix the problem, then do the following. Switch the black and magenta cartridge. Some printers won't print when you do this, other printers don't know the difference. If your printer is the later, then attempt a print job using a page that has a line of both black and magenta text. If you see a black print, then the problem is your magenta cartridge (despite having installed a new one) If the magenta prints, then you know the magenta cartridge is good. If the magenta prints but the black doesn't, then you have a printer failure. Let me know your results. ZT3000 Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
