What would cause a GE Harmony washer to fill too slowly? The water in cold water wash cycle literally just dribbles into the tub.

The water pressure in our apartment complex is abnormally low, but my vintage 1959 Kenmore washer (sadly recently stopped agitating) used to fill at a normal rate with the cold water setting. I've seen videos of the GE Harmony Profile washer in operation and in those videos, the machines fill at a normal rate.

The filler hose has a wire mesh filter in it to keep the inlet water from passing particles that would keep the solenoid valve from closing completely. Shut off the water and take the hose off from both the faucet and the washer. clean the screen and check the one in the washer too.

Water for intial fill works fine . when it goes to rinse cycle the water just dribbles in making wash time go on for ever ! whats the solution?

when you start the washer set it just on cold and see if it fills slowly, when the washer goes to rinse it just uses cold water, you could have a problem with the washer or in the house, when you run it on just cold and if it dribbles in,stop it shut down the water going to the washer, remove the cold water hose from the back of the washer, stick it in the sink or inside the washer and turn it on,if it comes out strong then you have a bad water valve on the washer,if it comes out slowly you have a bad water valve in the house and it's not the washer.hope this helps

My washer will fill with water during the wash cycle just fine, but during the rinse cycle the water just trickles in. The water lines seem to be fine. What else could be causing my problem?

usually the wash is a mix of hot and cold and the rinse is just cold, that said, it is most likely a problem with the cold water supply. check to make sure the cold water valve is all the way open and the hose isn't kinked. If those are ok turn the water supply off and remove the supply lines on the machine side, you will see a screen inside the washer that may be clogged with sediment. If so, just clean it out and put it back together. You may also want to run a wash cycle on cold only to see if it fills slowly for the wash cycle. If it does fill slowly on cold you have low pressure on the cold side.

What causes ge profile washer start filling up with water as soon as the spin cycle is through

most likely you either have a weak pressure switch or a water valve that is not seating properly... if when the unit is off it does not fill on you then it most likely is going to be a pressure switch located in the console area... prior to replacement though make sure the clear hose that goes from the pressure switch to the side of tub is not damaged or disconnected from the switch itself...alot of times if there is a crack and it cannot hold the pressure switch closed it will open and allow water to continue to run... the operation is as follows: turning the timer to a wash cycle water fills to desired load level once reached the pressure of the water in the tub will send air up to the pressure switch telling it to close once closed the timer advances to the next level of the wash cycle and the power is shut off from the pressure switch and water valve.... hope this helps a little ....

Water runs but doesn't fill tub and wont spin if put on spin cycl

The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

Wptg9350c profile harmony washer- hot water slowly fills washer

That is not normal. Usually this happens because of a faulty inlet valve or because of a faulty control/timer board. The inlet valve is tested first and eventually replaced.

If the valve is ok , then proceed in testing the timer board.

Washer Is Dribbling Water Into Tub

you have a bad inlet waer valve stuck in open position, youll need to replace the valve. easy enough to do, its the valve your hoses are screwed into, in the mean time until repair is made, you can simply turn offf water supply between loads ( not a bad thing to do anyway)

GE Washing machine cold water barely dribbles in

Yes remove the hose from where it connects to washer look inside water valve and remove plastic screen with needle nose pliers Without damaging it. Also make sure that it gets back in proper as the valve will be damaged without it.
