These usually have a button cell battery to hold the time when its powered off. This backup battery is usually found on the back or underside but may also be inside.

SOURCE: I have a Marquette Max-1 that loses date/time when powered down. Is there a backup battery/capacitor?

replace the backup battery usually found on the back or near the bottom near a clip.

Testimonial: "This unit is a Max-1, not a Mac 1200. I appologize if there was any confusion. Is your answer still applicable for the Max-1?"

Date 01/31/14

Does it keep losing the date when you turn it off? or are you asking how to set the time and date?

If you're losing time and date when you turn the unit off, there's a coin cell battery on the main processor board that needs replacing.

If you just want to set the time and date - Press "SHIFT" and 12 lead keys at the same time. select "7" for date and time, use the return key to select date or time
