I have an ancient Braun food processor 4243. It seems that when I put a larger than normal load, it stops spinning. Is there something that I can replace to make it work?

Shear pin if it has one is the most likely cause. The add them to shear rather that burning out the motor. Contact Braun for advice on that machine.
