SOURCE: need to wire a zone control for a closed system with a circulator
Tankless water heaters for domestic use fire whenever there is water flow. As long as the pump flow rate exceeds the minimum flow rate of the appliance, the heaters hould fire (the return temperature needs to be less than the set temperature as well). Boiler systems will typically require a thermostatic signal (call for heat) and water flow before they will fire. Tankless heaters are designed for residential use and only require pump flow to fire.

You can't really do that. The two 110 outlets probably come for the same 'leg' of the 240. If you check them with a meter, there will be '0' volts between the two hot wires. So, they have the same 'potential'. You need a regular 240 volt circuit from a double pole breaker that is rated for the wire size that it's feeding. 20 amp-#12 ; 30 amp- #10 etc.

There should be a large, easy to read diagram under the cover once you remove it from the heater. Is the one under your missing or unreadable? Hayward doesn't publish one on their tech website or residential documents page so I have an email into our tech support contact asking for one in case yours is missing. If you find it under the cover please add a comment to that effect. FIXYA website has not been letting me post pictures lately so getting you the info may be a little difficult.
