Unless this is a laptop, you can try another keyboard to see if the problem goes away.

You can also gently flick off the relevant letters with a screw driver and clean the underside and the actual keyboard switches, but one at a time incase you forget where they go.

SOURCE: Gateway cordless KR-0401 Keyboard

I had the same problem. I solved it by pressing the connect button on the back of the keyboard and then pressing the connect button on the wireless connection base. The keyboard and the base will sync up again. Should solve your problem.

SOURCE: keys on keyboard not working properly

go control panel, hit mouse and find default settings. hit default, ok and do a reset on your computer.
If you have a special install disk for your mouse when the system starts back up ,test your keys then install the disk(or CD). if this does not correct your problem , check to see if someone changed the language on your pc. If english, buy a new keyboard.

SOURCE: Space bar, left-side enter key and backspace do not respond.

Try buying a can of compressed air and cleaning around those areas if you have spilled liquid on them ,that could be the prob as well

How to get full screen from off to on

Usually the F11 key is used to change from Full to regular screen size.
If you are using a mini keyboard with only ten Function keys, press the Fn key together with the F1 key and this will make it into an F11 key.
Be aware that laptop keyboatds are usually set up to use the alternate function; so you must simultaneously typw the Fn (blue) key and the F11 keys together to toggle the Full Screen Function
Best Regards.

Just been given a ASUS Eee PC 900, with Linux. It says press the Enter Key, but I can not find a Enter Key as such. What key do I have to press.? Driving me crazy

Well, the Enter key is the one with the symbol of a left-pointing arrow with a short 'up bit' on the right-hand side of it. I think its to the right of the @ sign and on the same row. Incidentally the OTHER left-pointing arrow without the up bit on it is the backspace. Thats up above the Enter key also on the right-hand side of the keyboard. Regards, nicam49

The keyboard is recognised by the computer and more or less functions as it should, however various keys do not seem to function, for example the enter key and backspace key have no effect when pressed. ...

Hello,

The 'Enter' and 'Backspace' are two of the most essential keys on a keyboard. It is highly unlikely that they would fail due to a software or driver problem.

It really sounds like the keyboard is actually defective.

I suggest you try plugging it in to another computer. If the same keys are failing the keyboard is defective.

Hope this helps.

Back space key seems to stick in the on position (electronically not physically)when pressed and released. If the key pad is removed and the backspace pressed with a pen it seems to work normally.

that happens when the spring/switch of the specific key go bad, normally in such cases the entire keypad have to be changed but if you are lucky then it is possible that only one key will be changed.... so without wasting time get it repaired from some professional

My keyboard isn't typing most keys

I would reset the bios by using the jumper in the cabinet. Then make sure you have the correct type of keyboard selected and if all of that does not solve the issue, replace the keyboard.

Backspace doesnt work

in all likelihood your shift key is stuck. try pressing and releasing both shift keys in an attempt to "free" them. Also, check to ensure that "sticky keys" is not enabled on your computer(pressing and holding the shift key for about 10 seconds should pop up a window if it is. if the window appears, just make sure that the key is not "stuck" by windows).

Solution: mechanical agitation for your shift keys to attempt to free them, and a good thorough cleaning for all of your keyboard with canned air and/or a lint free cloth damp with dilluted isoprophyl alchohol to prevent this from happening in the future with these or other keys. Alternately, replace your keyboard.
