Two identical Sears doors jump about 6 to 8 inches up when opener button pressed. Periodically doors will stop at that point, need to be closed and then reopened to operate properly. Have tried adjusting travel limits with no success.

It sounds like the door springs may be mis-adjusted. Release the doors from the opener and try raising and lowering them manually. They should not try to rise on their own.

When closing the door it will act like it is going to close, move about 4 inches then go back up and the light flashes 5 or 6 times and then stops

Check the sensors in the doorway. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors.

Access Master 1/3 HP garage door does not close, blinks

Most likely your door sensors are out of alignment. Make sure they are pointed directly at one another.

Craftsman 1/2 HP garage opener opens only 6 inches

Remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is white nylon and is just in front of the motor. It may be stripped. Take a close look at those door springs. They can sometime appear to be okay when one is broken.

Garage door will only open like 6 inches high but it will close

Does the light flash right after? I had the same issue and it was because the electronic 'eyes' couldn't see each other. Clean em up and make sure they are pointed at each other. The only other issue could be the upward force is set too low on the opener. You may have other issues with the door not opening as it should. I'd make sure that you can open it by hand just to make sure it's not binding.

I have a sears craftmen garage door and the control switch on the wall light keeps flashing and I need to know how to get it toa solid light and when I press the button to close the door it goes few...

When the door reverses to the open position and the main light flashes 10 times it is a door sensor problem. Usually the sensors get bumped and need to be tweaked so that they are once again pointed at one another. Each sensor has a small light that must be on for them to work. The light on one sensor stays lit all the time and the other sensor light is only on when they are pointed at one another.

The flashing light in your wall control is a separate problem. One of the buttons on the wall control has an icon of a lock. Press and hold it for 3 seconds and release. It should stop flashing.

Door opens only 6 inches and stuck

I would try jumping a wire across the white & red terminal to see if your safety sensors are working Properly! If your door opens you have a loose connection or faulty sensors.

Opener will not reverse

FIRST YOU NEED TO RESET THE CHAIN .

Unplug power
Release the door from the opener close the door manually. take the chain loose and slide the traveler down to reengage with the trolley. Plug in power, run the unit with chain off untill it completes a clockwise cycle and stops. reconnect the chain and set tension.

Adjust the chain tension.

If it still moves 6-8 inches and flashes 5 times. the problem is in the rpm sensor.
