I cannot adjust the darkness from the LCD panel on a Zebra 140XiII thermal printer. All other adjustments can be raised and lowered via the panel. Is there a setting that locks this somewhere?

zgorbe723: The darkness is only setup via software. Adjust it in your Windows driver or including the heat command in your format: CONTRAST n 'in CPL comtec syntax ^MD+n 'in ZPL zebra syntax
check if IP adress, subnet mask and the gateway are correct on the printer setings.
Try to ping the IP address from the START-Run...(write CMD) and write ping IP adress.???.???.???.???

Print speeds on the Zebra xiII series printers are set via software. There is no printer menu speed setting on the xiII series. Zebra didn't allow speed adjusts thru the front panel menu until they made the xiIII series printers... The ZPL code command for print speed is "^PR"

The problem is that the printer has different printing parameters, or speed or darkness. Adjust to be equal in the print server as workstation.
1. Clean the print head with cleaning pen. 2. Adjust print speed/darkness in software. 3. Check the media and verify that print surface is facing up. 4. Check that correct thermal media is in use.
