Each town having a populace of 500 and more should have a grampanchayat. In littler towns a gathering grampanchayat for a few towns is set up. The span of populace secured by every panchayat differs from state to state.
The quantity of individuals from a grampanchayat relies on upon the measure of populace. It differs from 7 to 17. Individuals from grampanchayat are chosen by villagers for a time of five years.
