I have a Vizio XVT473SV with no video or audio, but the Vizio standby lights up.

I had a power surge hit my home and my TV no longer powers on, but the Vizio standby lights up. I followed Vizio's reset procedures and did a flashlight test in a dark room. There's nothing but the Vizio standby lit up. The Vizio standby used to blink when I power cycled it in the past. Checking online and youTube, it might be, Vizio XVT473SV INVERTER 0500-0712-0020 PCLH-A952A, or Vizio 0500-0512-0810 Power Supply Unit. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would say its most likely the power supply. Quite often after a power surge this can happen. Another option could be that the surge just blew the fuse on the power supply board and replacing that may be all you need. That said, usually you will get no signs of life at all if the fuse blows.

If the standby light is on its not a fuse, see if your getting the PWR-ON voltage, if so then test your various power supply voltages and see if they are ok

SOURCE: blinking power light

This set has a power supply and signal PCB. Since the indicator light is blinking, I would consider the problem to be a missing voltage from the power supply. Unplugging the set for a couple minutes may solve the problem. If not the set may still be under warranty. Contact LG (800) 243-0000 for a servicer in your area. Hope this helps.

Did you ever find anything out about this? I have a pt-53tw53g with the exact same problem, and I've been unable to find out what the three flashes means.

SOURCE: vizio 37" no longer turn on

It depnds, if the board is labled with voltages at the DC output connectors or not, if not, you will have to trace out the connection to find out which one is 5vdc standby, switched 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24vdc (I have to do that all the time when I work on circuits without diagram).
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

I have a Vizio xvt473sv that will not turn on. The Vizio indicator light glows yellow so it has power but the tv doesn’t respond to the remote or side button. What could be the problem?

This sounds like a main power board usually capacitors but try a power cycle which is unplug tv and take cord off of tv. Hold power button in 25 seconds then plug it all back in however hook it up to a different wall outlet even with an extension cord if your tv is too big to move we just want to rule out the wall outlet in this testing. If it is something and you feel comfortable doing it you can get parts at shopjommy.com or check other places too.

Tv problems lg and vizeo

Power Issues Troubleshooting
*NOTE* LG & Vizio TVs must be plugged in for 5 minutes before it will turn on*
1. Inspect ALL Ribbons and connectors. Any tears or bad connections between boards must be replaced FIRST
2. If you have any of these boards, it should be the first board to be replaced
A) T-Con Board - Video Problems (No Video with standby light on, audio but no video, grainy, distorted, or color problems in screen)
B) X or Y Buffer Board (Plasma TVs only) - Standby light is on but no power
C) Backlight Inverter / LED Driver - No Video with standby light on
3. Main Video Board
- Standby light is on but no power
- Either video or audio does not work (if no T-Con in TV. If audio but no video it is T-Con)
4. Power Board - No power AND standby light does NOT turn on. If standby light is on try other boards above
5. Panel - No power, distorted picture, lines, slow motion, half screen, faded in / out. Panel problems are usually not worth replacing the panel.

I have a Vizio tv model xvt473sv that has no Video,no audio, the hdmi do not work, it will not power up and the standby light will not light up.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

. Problem with Projection Televisions Cust.

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of bad T-con LED controller TV board (T-con board is the responsible for processing of picture on your TV)..

This is the sample image of T-con board.

I suggest you to buy this TV part to fix your unit..

I already search the board online so you don't need to spend more time for searching parts online..

Xvt473sv is plugged into a battery auxilliary unit to protect against power surges fduring thunderstorms. Last night we lost power as we were watching tv, we turned of the tv. This morning the tv will not...

Since you do get some indicator on the TV, it means that the standby power supply is working but the rest of the power supply may not be.
The main board processor may have gotten corrupted, I would try unplugging it for about an hour to let it reset itself to see if it will work. If it still not working, then the power supply module needs to be checked out.
Please read my guide first so you will know what to look for.

Solutions (2) Best Solution That little fella is only turned off by unplugging it. If all those little lights in America could be turned off we could do with one less nuclear power plant. If unplugging it is not an option, my wife's solution is to cover it with a piece of black tape.

remove all screws on the back of the tv, carefully pull off back cover. you will see two circuit boards one on the left (Power) and one on the right (Video) on the Video board there is a small plug on the right side with a yellow, white and red wire going into a small white connector. the red wire is what controls the orange light on the front. now that the plug is pulled turn it over and you should see a small white plastic piece that holds each metal connector on the end of the wires in. pry this piece of plastic up for the red wire and pull at the same time, the wire will come out of the connector. now tape the metal connector with electrical tape and tuck it behind something or tape it to the chassis. plug your connector back in. put the rear cover back on. now your tv will only show the vizio logo in white when you have the power on. If you wish to disable the logo for both orange and white just disconnect the white plug completely.
