Did you replace or reface the seat (the surface in the bottom of the faucet body where the stem's washer "seats" itself to shut off the flow of water? There are special tools for removing the old seats and installing new ones (available from professional plumbing suppliers), or you may be able to renew the seat's surface with a special tool called a seat surfacer.

SOURCE: kitchen spout leaks

Hi buffy9,

I'm Harvet the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You have an American Standard two faucet in my kitchen and the base of the spout leaks at the base. How do you remove it and replace the washers?

Are we talking about an American Standard two HANDLE faucet or one of the single handle models?

Thank you,
Harvey your Master Plumber

SOURCE: American Standard Hamilton Toilet Leaking

You have installed the parts improperly. You must have 3/8 of an inch slack in the chain from the flapper to the handle when flapper is closed.

How to remove and replace pull down hose and head in an american standard kitchen faucet?

Download the BILT app and search for your faucet model. The icon is turquoise with a white nut ( as in nut and bolt).
It will show you step by step nearly everything under the sun. Hope that helps a bit.

Can i add and subtract polynomials in this app or using numbers?

You can as long as the variables are the same. i.e. 2h + -7h is OK. 2h + -7k is not OK since the variables (letters) are not the same.

The base of spout is like a nut unscrew then lift off spout install new o-rings be sure to use plumbers grease or vaseline to coat new o-ring ,reinstall as was disassembled that should take care of problem. You may need a strap wrench to remove spout base nut.

I have an american standard shower knobs for cold and hot with a center control that directs to shower. Tub faucet leaks. How do I fix this?

Hi,
Pull the knob off...usually the screw is behind a cover in the center of the knob...
Behind the knob you will find a nut that is the packing nut ... this is what keeps the water from running out around the stem...turn that nut clockwise a quarter to a half turn or until snug...
this iwll fix your leak...

I have an american standard single control faucet. I realized water was leaking down the pipes. When i turned of the hot water valve, water stopped leaking. How do i go about fixing this.

Chances are your supply line is leaking. One of three things (easy fixes).
1) There is a "packing nut" on the shut off which holds the handle on - this could be leaking (just tighten with pliers while open).
2) There is a nut directly above the shut off (3/8 inch) which goes directly to the faucet. Simply thighten this nut.
3) There is yet another nut above the last (very near the faucet). This is a 5/8 nut and you will most likely need a "crescent wrench" to tighten this as you cannot get pliers up there. You can purchase a crescent wrench at any hardware store for about 10 bucks. Good luck!

Replaced flaper as it was leaking in about 30 mi. Replaced and st

Hard to read you question. No sure what it is but if the flapper is still leaking it may be bcause most brand of fleappers do nto fit American Standard commodes correctly. Purchase a replacement made for American Standard only.
