Sounds like your control board fuse(s) circled in red below have blown which can essentially prevent the refrigerator from turning on. The control borad is accessed from the back side of the frig and behind a screwed on panel. The problem gets worse though ... in that these fuses are NOT removable ... they are soldered directly to the board ... so the whole board has to be replaced or if you are extremely handy with electronics you unsolder the blown one out and solder back a new one

SOURCE: Amana French Door Refrigerator "on" but no cooling; freezer still works

There are 2 possible problems. One is the defrost cycle is not working properly this is usually indicated by a large amount of frost on the back freezer panel. If so, the circuit will have to be repaired and the evaperator thawed to remove the ice build up. The other is the fresh food damper is not working properly this is behind the "lump" in the back of the fridge compartment above the top shelf, remove the louver panel to see if it is open or closed. closed will be warm open should be cold. The water dispenser reservoir is probably frozen due to poor air circulation.

SOURCE: refrigerator compartment not cooling

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

My LG fridge model LFC 23760 ST is 1 yr old and has started noises when compressor kicks in. The whirring of the fan has gotten quite loud. Any ideas?

It could be that the cooling area is being restricted by something. Remove the front panel and take a look to make sure everything looks ok. You should have a warranty and I would sure use that before you have more problems...

I have a similar manual that shows just what you are up against. How about the power cord itself? Is it ok?

LG Model LFC23760 (French Doors, bottom freezer) power prob

Replace fuse with 9A 250V slow-burn fuse. I used a gray fuse harness from Radio Shack so that if the fuse needs to be replaced again I can just pop in a new one without doing the soldering over.
I nuked the original fuse, the end-caps and the wires that went from the end-caps/fuse to the motherboard. I replace those wires with some I scavenged off a fresh thermal fuse (also bought at RS, just needed the wires themselves which seemed to be the same diameter/gauge as the original leads) and ran them from the motherboard to the wire harness.
So far, so good!
Good luck to you.
