Bingo! here's the tech's reply...The interior of the breadmaker is to cold to operate. Move to a warmer environment,open lid, remove bread tin and ALLOW TO WARM UP before replacing or starting your bake.

Went on russell hobbs website and e-mailed them, they sent me a copy of the instruction manual by e-mail.

check the dial is in steam position or maybe you may have build up in the line for the steam
