Hi!!
Make sure the breaker for the unit is off, disconnect power cord from wall outlet also.
Remove the broiler heating element, usually held by one or two screws to the back of the oven.
Pull heating element out of the socket receptacle, some units the heating element comes off by pulling away from receptacle, other the receptacle comes out a few inches and you have to unplug the heating element then.
check receptacle and wiring for peeled insulation, loose wire or burned out connector. You may have to remove the range's back panel to check all the wiring.
Once you're sure there is no hot wires shorting to ground, reconnect unit and turn breaker back on, if it stays ON this time. Check all the unit's functions but the Broiler, if everything is normal, unplug unit, replace back cover and slide range in place.
Check Broiler heating element with an ohmmeter for continuity, if none, heating element is broken, replace it.
If there is continuity on the heating element, make sure no wires are touching the unit and turn the broiler function ON, if it comes out OK, the heating element was at fault, if it trips the breaker again, recheck broiler circuit for a short to ground.
Good Luck! Keep me posted
