Make sure Bluetooth is turned on your phone. Re-boot the phone - actually, turn it off completely, then boot it up after a delay to ensure it's completely powered off.
Once it's started up again, try to sync again.
also, if you have more than one device that the fitbit connects to, make sure that only the phone's Bluetooth is turned on. apparently, more than one Bluetooth signal will confuse things - according to Fitbit cust support.
